RouteXpert Review
This trip is based on the routes that Marc Telkamp drove in 2009 during his tour of the Czech Republic. The routes may differ from the original due to map changes and daily distances. This route takes you, as the name implies, to Prague. Prague is the capital and largest city of the Central European Republic of the Czech Republic. Its official name is hlavní město Praha, which means capital city Prague. Prague is considered one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and its historic center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Golden City, as one of Prague's nicknames is, is located on the Vltava River. During the existence of the state of Czechoslovakia up to and including the year 1992, Prague was the capital of this nation.
But first enjoy the route, surroundings and beautiful villages that you pass on the way. You should definitely stop in Ledeč nad Sázavou, the city center is of historical importance and is legally protected as an urban monument area.
Lunch is scheduled in Český Šternberk, which is a castle and a town. It is one of the most beautiful castles in the Czech Republic, beautifully situated on an elevation next to the river. The restaurant Pod Hradem ('Under the castle'), a large restaurant with an indoor and outdoor area. The castle is also well worth a visit, the castle has been in the same family for 700 years and has a number of historically furnished rooms. The reception hall in particular has the appearance of a palace with large chandeliers, chairs with thick upholstery and many mirrors. The library with many hundred-year-old books also appeals to the imagination.
Once in Prague, you will stay in a stately hotel to explore from the city. Definitely worth staying here for more than 1 day. Wait you thought of the Charles Bridge, this is a famous bridge over the Vltava in Prague. The bridge connects the Old Town with the Malá Strana district. Until 1841, Charles Bridge was the main link between the Old Town and Prague Castle. Prague Castle, also called Prague Castle or Prague Castle, is located on the hill and castle district of Hradčany. The enclosed castle area is the largest in the world and was built in the 9th century.
