RouteXpert Review
This route was made by Kulturland Kreis Höxter Tourismus. You leave from Brakel and drive to historic Höxter. After this you drive uphill and downhill between Eilversen and Bremerberg to the top of the Köterberg. From the highest point of the region you have a beautiful panoramic view. The tour continues through the former Falkenhagen monastery to the half-timbered town of Lügde. You will also drive over the Ottenstein highlands, which also offer a beautiful view of the Weserbergland. The tour then continues through the hilly Extertal in the direction of Lemgo. In this historic Hanseatic city you will find a medieval city center with richly decorated stone and half-timbered houses.
From the historic city center of Blomberg with its beautiful half-timbered houses, it is only a short distance until you reach the city of Schieder-Schwalenberg. This idyllic town of Schwalenberg preaches with its historic half-timbered houses on the Burgberg. Finally, you drive through the Hügel landscape to Nieheim, a city for true connoisseurs. It is also worth stopping at the Sack Museum. Here everything revolves around "old bags".
