RouteXpert Review
This route is on the Publicrad Motorradkarte Schwarzwald. I changed the starting point and end point of the original route and drove it myself in September 2018. In Todtnau-Aftersteg is the highest natural waterfall in Germany, where the water falls 97 meters down! If you park in Aftersteg, you can take a short walk to this waterfall. Then you drive via the Schauinsland mountain (1284 m) to the beautiful city of Freiburg. Please note: the former Schauinsland circuit is closed for motorbikes on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
The Kaiserstuhl has a volcanic origin. This region has an average height of 355 m and with its partly Mediterranean climate is one of the warmest places in Germany. This is a very good wine-growing region due to the volcanic soil. You come here through beautiful villages and along beautiful views! Further down the route you drive to the top of the Kandelberg (1242 m). Here is a Bikertreff and you can enjoy the view. In good weather this is also a starting place for paragliders.
Holzschlägermatte, Freiburg
Kandelpasshöhe, Waldkirch
