RouteXpert Review
This route from the Motorbike guide France part 1 is a tour in the Dordogne in the sign of Prehistory. Bert Loorbach, the writer, is an enthusiastic motorcyclist himself and lived in France for a year and a half. During that time he devoted himself to mapping the unknown and beautiful roads of France especially for motorcyclists.
Hotels, campsites, places of interest, parking spaces and restaurants are listed as POIs.
This route can be driven in one day, but because there is a lot to see along the way, it can also be split up. The start and end point is Les Eyzies de Tayac Sireuil, this town already has many beautiful places to visit, such as the national prehistoric museum, various caves, castles and archaeological sites. More information is available at the Syndicat d'Initiative.
I have included two as a route point for enthusiasts:
RP2 Aquarium du Périgord Noir; an aquarium with many freshwater fish.
RP21 Theme Park Prehistoparc; a theme park about the life of the Neanderthals.
Along the way you pass beautiful small villages with castles, small stone houses and a few beautiful bridges.
Lunch is planned in La Roque-Gageac (RP14) a small town on the river with a few small restaurants.
At RP16 it is very worthwhile to stop for a walk through the beautiful town of Sarlat la Canéda
This route is a beautiful tour with beautiful roads, beautiful panoramas and many sights. I therefore rate this with 5 stars.
RP4 two bridges Limeuil Nouvelle-Aquitaine
RP16 Sarlat-la-Canéda
