Route Summary
This is the 8th of 15 routes of the tour through the West of America. This route goes from St. George to Las Vegas. You start with the Interstate 15 which goes directly from St George to Las Vegas. You will once again pass a state border because you enter Utah. Of course not only Interstate, but also a nicer part via the Valley of Fire State Park and Lake Mead, where a photo stop at the Hoover Dam is planned. During this journey you will travel through the following states: California, Arizona, Utah & Nevada.
The roads are good, the views amazing. Another day of violence and again enough to capture.
Starting point: Ramada Inn.
End point: Four Queens Hotel and Casino.
The route has been made the same for TomTom, Garmin and MyRoute-app Navigation users.
Thanks to Richard & Lisa for the information!

RouteXpert Review
Try to leave on time so that during the stops you can also take the time to see everything, then you may not arrive too late at the hotel and that is a good thing, because there is plenty to see and do in Las Vegas. Book a room for several days here, then you will also have time to explore Las Vegas. You can go and see the immense hotels on the strip with the many shows, or ride your motorcycle across the strip.
Las Vegas is not just a city, it is a world in itself, or rather, a melting pot of worlds. Where else than in Las Vegas can you visit Egypt, New York, Venice, Italy and Morocco within a radius of a few kilometers and if that is not enough, the Circus, a Fairytale Castle, a Pirate City or a Tropical
Paradise? And all within a radius of a few kilometers, located on 1 street in the middle of a desert. Many people loathe this cacophony of American grandeur madness, but at least as large a number can intensely enjoy this amusement park for adults. For both adults and children, there is more than enough entertainment to be found in this neon-flooded city. The main goal of all splendor and
appear on, on and in the hotel / casinos is naturally luring visitors to the casino floor. However, without gambling even 1 dollar cent, you can spend weeks without being bored for a single moment!
In this 4 star route you mainly drive on good roads, enjoy the stops in the Valley of Fire State Park and at the Hoover Dam. Also bring enough water again!
General information:
Utah
National Parks and Mormons, which almost everyone immediately associates with the state of Utah. The parks were always there, the Mormons came to the Great Salt Lake in the middle of the last century to start a prosperous community in that unfriendly area. For that reason alone, the history of Utah is interesting. Although more and more people from California and other states come to Utah because of the pleasant living environment and the growing high tech industry, the Mormons are still dominant and that is precisely the reason for that living environment. The sharp edges of Mormon dominance (no drinks, etc.) have been removed and Salt Lake City is a much more interesting city than its image suggests. In the capital you can of course see the large buildings of the Mormons, the Temple and the Tabernacle. There are also countless memories of the Mormon struggle
survive. In 2000, Salt Lake City was the host city for the Winter Olympics. All facilities can be found within a half-hour drive around the city. Utah is a beautiful winter sports state but perhaps a little too far away to be really interesting for Europeans. For tourists, the rest of the state is also a paradise of parks and natural monuments. No fewer than five national parks, six National Monuments and two National Recreation Areas.
Key data for Utah:
Capital city: Salt Lake City
Surface area: 219,887 km2
Population: 3,161 million (2018)
Nickname: Beehive State
Las Vegas:
Las Vegas is primarily the bustling casino town in the middle of the desert. The overwhelming neon signs of the gambling palaces impress even the most sober visitor. Visit a show in the evening at one of the casino hotels. But Las Vegas is also the base for visiting the nearby Canyons. You can visit the Grand Canyon by helicopter, plane or bus tour. A little further away are the National Parks of Bryce Canyon and Death Valley. Other attractions are the Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and the Valley of Fire. For the more adventurous there is "Riverrafting" on the mighty Colorado River, an absolutely unforgettable experience. A city in the middle of the desert, a city where the mercury rises above 40 degrees Celsius in the summer. A city where 1.2 million people live but more than 36 million people visit each year. Where in total around 135,000 hotel rooms are available, ranging from low-budget rooms to suites with dimensions larger than an average house. The place where every day 150 loving couples promise each other eternal loyalty. Where dreams are born and Elvis is still alive. A city that becomes a part of you once you have set foot in it. Las Vegas ("the meadows" in Spanish) is located in the 36th state of the US; Nevada. Nicknamed "The Silver State", this state has the fastest population growth of all states in the US, most of which settle in Las Vegas. Yet Las Vegas is not the capital of Nevada. This honor belongs to Carson City.
Hoover Dam:
South of Las Vegas you can visit the well-known Hoover Dam, a dam built in the 1930s that halts the Colorado River and supplies power to Las Vegas and the surrounding area. One can book excursions to take a look inside the dam (inquire in advance about the possibilities due to possible threats of attacks, these tours are sometimes not given).

About this region
Arizona (AIR-iz-OH-nə; Navajo: Hoozdo Hahoodzo Navajo pronunciation: [hoː˥z̥to˩ ha˩hoː˩tso˩]; O'odham: Alĭ ṣonak) is a state in the Western United States, grouped in the Southwestern and occasionally Mountain subregions. It is the 6th largest and the 14th most populous of the 50 states. Its capital and largest city is Phoenix. Arizona shares the Four Corners region with Utah to the north, Colorado to the northeast, and New Mexico to the east; its other neighboring states are Nevada and California to the west and the Mexican states of Sonora and Baja California to the south and southwest.
Arizona is the 48th state and last of the contiguous states to be admitted to the Union, achieving statehood on February 14, 1912. Historically part of the territory of Alta California in New Spain, it became part of independent Mexico in 1821. After being defeated in the Mexican–American War, Mexico ceded much of this territory to the United States in 1848. The southernmost portion of the state was acquired in 1853 through the Gadsden Purchase.
Southern Arizona is known for its desert climate, with very hot summers and mild winters. Northern Arizona features forests of pine, Douglas fir, and spruce trees; the Colorado Plateau; mountain ranges (such as the San Francisco Mountains); as well as large, deep canyons, with much more moderate summer temperatures and significant winter snowfalls. There are ski resorts in the areas of Flagstaff, Alpine, and Tucson. In addition to the internationally known Grand Canyon National Park, which is one of the world's seven natural wonders, there are several national forests, national parks, and national monuments.
Since the 1950s, Arizona's population and economy have grown dramatically because of migration into the state, and now the state is a major hub of the Sun Belt. Cities such as Phoenix and Tucson have developed large, sprawling suburban areas. Many large companies, such as PetSmart and Circle K, have headquarters in the state, and Arizona is home to major universities, including the University of Arizona and Arizona State University. Traditionally, the state is politically known for national conservative figures such as Barry Goldwater and John McCain, though it voted Democratic in the 1996 presidential race and in the 2020 presidential and senatorial elections.
Arizona is home to a diverse population. About one-quarter of the state is made up of Indian reservations that serve as the home of 27 federally recognized Native American tribes, including the Navajo Nation, the largest in the state and the United States, with more than 300,000 citizens. Since the 1980s, the proportion of Hispanics in the state's population has grown significantly owing to migration from Mexico. In terms of religion, a substantial portion of the population are followers of the Catholic Church and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon).
