Route Summary
Since the beginning of the 90s of the last century, ANWB / Promoter has been deploying the so-called Tank Bag Tours (TTT). You understand that the name still comes from the GPS-free era, when motorcyclists still searched their way on roads with a roadbook in the tank bag or router roll. These TTT are touring through the Netherlands with the occasional trip to Belgium, Germany or even Luxembourg, which are driven 6 to 7 times a year. The 1st around March and the last around October. These TTTs have a starting point, a pause location and an end point. It is nice to discover what you have not seen in your own country and which nice roads you did not know before.
This TTT is from 2019, so the route may differ slightly from the original.
I have checked all route points and, where necessary, placed them on the road. Also, if necessary, I have further spaced the start point and end point of the route to avoid navigating directly to the end point and I added the POI files from the start and end point as well as possible pause location (s).
Finally, I made the route the same for TomTom, Garmin and MRA Navigation users.
Thanks to Promoter.

RouteXpert Review
The 4th Tank Bag Tour of 2019 has the start and end points in Lemmer at the McDonald's. Lemmer. Wolvega. Heerenveen. What goes on hearing those names through you? I mainly see many skaters. Ice stadium Thialf, full of carnivalesque figures with weird headwear. But further? Oh yes, and a soccer club. That is it. What do you find in the Frisian Southwest corner? The largest still operating steam pumping station in the world (UNESCO World Heritage)! A museum that belongs to the most beautiful in the Netherlands (Belvédère). With works by an artist who can join the ranks of the great (Jan Mankes!). And from the Schoterland constituency, Ferdinand Domela Nieuwenhuis brought socialism to The Hague.
The TankTasTocht starts as said in Lemmer, an exciting collection of canals, locks and harbors, with names such as Emmakade, Onder de Hoek and Langesteek. The bones filled with the many pleasure yachts. Just outside of Lemmer is the ir. DF Wouda pumping station, an elongated symmetrical building with many windows and a high factory pipe, at the end of a long straight ditch.
You continue on through the Frisian lake area to Heerenveen. Lots of space, lots of light and look as far as you can. You entertain yourself on the back roads with names such as Pôlle and Bokkeleane and Scharren. It is also quiet, apart from what farmers are working on. Once in Heerenveen, you can visit the Belvédère museum in Oranjewoud. This TankTasTocht we conclude with the finest, namely miles long swirling over the Lindendijk and later on the Worstdijk, and no one to see. Delicious! (Source: Promoter 05-2019).
Because I have not (yet) driven this route myself, this route gets 3 stars.
