The Algarve extends over the entire coastal region of southern Portugal. Its beautiful beaches, impressive cliff rocks, idyllic bays and wonderful climate have a great attraction for holidaymakers all year round. The Algarve is loved in summer and winter because of the beautiful climate, so it is also ideal for motorcycle vacations and good to combine with driving in Andalusia Spain.
In this area you have beautiful roads through a beautiful landscape, from hilly greenery to rugged rocks, beautiful coastal roads and narrow mountain roads with authentic villages.
For the off roaders there is also plenty to enjoy.
Opportunities to spend the night are plentiful; campsites, B & Bs, holiday homes, hotels and holiday parks so something for everyone.

RouteXpert Review
This tour in the Algarve starts and ends in Armação de Pêra, a pretty little town, about 50 km from Faro. The fishing village of origin has become a tourist attraction because of its beautiful beaches. This is a nice base for journeys in the Algarve. You can drive the ride to Portugal yourself or have your motorcycle transported, you don't have a motorbike, no problem nearby are two things that rent motorbikes and quads. Links are in the review.
We leave from the campsite and drive quietly out of the town to the north on a narrow road through a beautiful green area with the occasional small village. From São Bartolomeu de Messines we drive to the east.
The roads are reasonable to good and on the way you can enjoy the beautiful scenery in the Algarve. You occasionally pass a typical Portuguese house, farmhouse or village. In the villages you can take a good break to have a drink in one of the local cafes. Often there are also old buildings in the center that you can see.
Just before Montel Ruivo (RP9) we turn south again. This road is narrow and meanders through a beautiful landscape with many trees and greenery. We descend to Alté (RP11), where we stop for a drink and when there is time to stretch our legs in the village.
From Alté it is only 9 km to Rocha da Pena (RP15), this is a National Park where you can make beautiful walks. At the top you have a beautiful view.
We drive around the Rocha da Pena on a beautiful winding via Salir to the Fonte Benemola National Park (RP22). Fonte de Benemola is a natural spring that continues to flow in the Algarve even in the hottest and driest weather, and this beautiful place still has lush vegetation along the riverbanks when the rest of the landscape is brown and dry.
The site was designated in 1991 to protect nature, and the flattened walk around the reserve is easy to follow and not too heavy, if you take the time to take pictures, the walk takes about an hour and a half.
Via São Brás de Alportel we drive to Loulé (RP26), this is a very beautiful town with lots to see and also ideal for planning lunch.
After lunch we drive back to the campsite via the internal roads.
This is a beautiful and not too long route through the Algarve and there are a few beautiful parks that you can visit, I appreciate this route with 4 **** stars.
