RouteXpert Review
This route from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon is a nice ride where you also visit Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam. There are partly pieces of highway because you drive through the Mohave desert.
This ride has no challenging curves and passes, but the landscape and the sights deserve 3 stars.
The route is good to drive with the motor or car. Motorbikes can be rented at EagleRider in Las Vegas (RP1) https://www.eaglerider.com/lasvegas. You can rent a car at the airport or at one of the many rental companies in the city.
The route points;
RP5 here you have nice views over Lake Mead
RP6 is the Hoover Dam, nice place to take pictures, drive ahead to RP7 where you can park.
RP8 Dolan Springs is a town in the Mohave desert, here you can stop for a drink or something to eat.
RP9 is a nice place to stop and take pictures of the surroundings. Many Joshua Trees.
Between RP11 and RP15 the routes are not equal, but that is not bad because you are transported here by bus or walk.
RP11 is the Hualapai Ranch, here you can buy a ticket for different sight seeing possibilities. Take the time to enjoy the Grand Canyon. There are different cards for sale, but do not take the meal, because they are bad and not worth the money. https://www.grandcanyonwest.com/tickets.htm
RP13 is Eagle Point is a Native American village
RP14 is the Grand Canyon Sky Walk, a horseshoe shaped glass bridge on which you can walk 1200 m above the bottom of the Canyon. This can be scary for some people. You can not bring a camera, there is a photographer on the bridge who makes photos (are pricey).
RP15 Guano Point is one of the most beautiful points with 360 degree views of the Grand Canyon.
At the end of the day you drive back via Boulder City, where you can stop to eat and drink. On the way back to Las Vegas, take a picture at the "Welcome to Las Vegas sign" (RP20) and then the Vegas Strip (RP22) to the end of Freemont Street (RP26), with the zip line, lots of bars , restaurant and live music.
