A motorcycle route that has it all, endless hairpin bends, dense forests, picturesque villages and a good dose of history. This ride takes you through the Hunsrück and the Pfälzer Wald in Rhineland-Palatinate, where you not only feel the asphalt under your wheels, but also soak up the rich culture and nature.
From the start you wind through small villages and dive deep into the forests. Along the way you pass ruins, castles and mysterious “Rittersteinen” – old markers that whisper stories from the past. And of course: curves, curves and more curves!
Because of the great roads and bends in this route I rate it 5 stars.

You drive through the Palatinate Forest: a playground for motorcyclists
Once you leave Kaiserslautern behind, the terrain becomes more challenging. Waldleiningen and Elmstein mark the beginning of the real Pfälzer Wald: a vast forest area with narrow, winding roads and hardly any traffic. Here you can really let the bike dance through the hairpin bends!
The first special place on the route is in Mehlingen, where the Perfume Museum offers an opportunity to delve into the history of perfumes.
A short stop at Bergrui Breitenstein is recommended. This old castle ruin is located in the middle of the forest and breathes medieval atmosphere. From here you look out over the hills and forests of the Palatinate - a perfect place to catch your breath.
Further along the route is the Museum für Weinbau in Rhodt unter Rietburg, a charming wine village where you can learn all about wine growing in this region. A good excuse to take a bottle home!
After a short break, you head to Annweiler am Trifels, a charming town known for its impressive castle, where Richard the Lionheart was once held captive. But the real surprise of this stage is Teufeltisch, a bizarre rock formation that looks like a giant mushroom. A short walk takes you to this natural wonder – worth a photo opportunity!
From Waldfischbach-Burgalben and Ramstein-Miesenbach you drive towards Thallichtenberg, where Geoskop Museum awaits you. This museum is located on the impressive Burg Lichtenberg and is the place to be for fossil lovers.
This route is a dream for every motorcyclist: challenging, varied and filled with history and nature. The best of the Hunsrück and the Pfälzer Wald! It is a route for the perseverer because the route is approximately 10 hours long including the breaks.
The route includes a number of places for a drink and a bite to eat for yourself and your motorbike, are you obliged to stop here? No, of course you can also determine your own stops.
You end the route at the hotel reception and enjoy a snack and a drink while reflecting on today's route.
