To the French Alps out of Antwerp Belgium crossing Vosges Jura and Vercors mountains
About this collection
This route collection takes you from Antwerp to Alpes d'Huez in three days.
Can you get to Alpes d'Huez faster? Of course.
Is there a more beautiful way to get from Antwerp to there? I honestly don't think so.....
This route collection takes you through three massifs on the way to the High Alps. The Vosges, the Jura and the Vercors, they all pass under your wheels.
The first route is a real shortcut route, and with good reason, after all we want to visit the beautiful roads as quickly as possible. With some good planning, this should be possible from noon on the first day. Via Brussels and Luxembourg we drive to Nancy and leave the highway there - with a few exceptions - never to see it again.
In Montbéliard we have to go through an urban area to reach the first hotel, but once we get there you have everything you need to have a nice evening!
The second day it is easy to get out of Montbéliard and the first slopes of the Jura soon follow. As you travel further south on quite nice roads, the French Jura shows itself from its most beautiful side.
Be careful with your money... you drive via this route right next to the Swiss border and if you switch to 4G it could be an expensive trip. So be careful with 4G on this route!
We will spend the night on the second day in the excellent B&B 'Chez Michelle et Dany' and you will have known that. Excellent food, both in the evening and in the morning (super fresh viennoiserie... - completely home-made, including the puff pastry!) and the view from the pool is very impressive; you see the entire Alps stretched out before you, including Mont Blanc.
On the third day you travel further south via excellent and mostly green Michelin roads. highly recommended with the Gorges du Nan and the adjacent kilometers as the icing on the cake. 80 kilometers of pure pleasure and overwhelming nature.
And even if you cross the col of the Vercors, it remains fun because you are approaching the high mountains of the Alps and they are very happy to introduce themselves to you via this route. Enjoy the view projected in front of your retina...
Anyway, you can get to the French Alps faster, for sure. But through this collection you also have a very pleasant memory and can subsequently tell a wonderful story...
