Leaving Marrakech behind, the true adventure begins as you head towards the Gorges du Dades. The road takes you through the magnificent curves of the Atlas Mountains, offering one breathtaking view after another. RouteXpert Review Leaving behind the vibrant city of Marrakech, we set off towards the Tafsut Dades Hotel in the Gorges du Dades, marking the beginning of the true adventure. The road ahead promised a day filled with breathtaking scenery and exhilarating rides through the Atlas Mountains.
As we navigated the winding roads, each turn revealed a new and stunning view, making the journey itself the highlight of the day. The blend of desert and mountainous landscapes offered endless beauty, with numerous photo opportunities at every stop. These roads are a dream for any traveler, combining thrilling rides with an ever-changing backdrop of natural wonders.
Our route included a small detour to the magnificent Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This historic ksar is famous for its earthen architecture and has been a backdrop for countless films, including Gladiator and Game of Thrones. It stands as a testament to Morocco’s rich history and cultural significance, with its striking beauty making it an unmissable stop.
We also passed through the city of Ouarzazate, often referred to as the "Hollywood of Africa." Home to world-renowned film studios like Atlas Studios, the city has hosted numerous Hollywood productions. Movies such as Lawrence of Arabia, The Mummy, and Kingdom of Heaven were filmed here, adding a cinematic charm to the journey.
Arriving at the Gorges du Dades was a magical experience. The dramatic rock formations and winding roads create an otherworldly atmosphere. The Tafsut Dades Hotel, nestled in the heart of the mountains, offered a serene and picturesque setting. Managed by two brothers who grew up in this family home, the hotel provides a warm and authentic experience. Guests are treated to hearty, traditional Moroccan meals, and every corner of the property boasts breathtaking views of the Atlas Mountains.
Surrounded by stunning landscapes in every direction, the Tafsut Dades Hotel was the perfect place to unwind after a day of riding. The peace and beauty of the area made the end of this day truly unforgettable.
