This route from the Motorcycle Tour Guide France part 1 is a tour through the northern part of the Périgord that starts and ends in Brantôme.

Bert Loorbach, the author, is an avid motorcyclist himself and lived in France for a year and a half. During that time, he dedicated himself to mapping France's lesser-known and beautiful back roads specifically for motorcyclists.
Hotels, campsites, sights, parking lots and restaurants are included as POIs.

The starting point is Brantôme, a charming town in the Dronne Valley. The route takes us through the quieter Dordogne region, which is abundant in water and greenery.

The first part we drive on a beautiful road along the banks of the Dronne to Bourdeilles,
In Bourdeilles, we visit the imposing Château de Bourdeilles, built on the cliffs with spectacular panoramic views. The tour takes about an hour and a half; the entrance fee is €10. It's best to park just outside the village and walk back across the bridge.

We'll be driving along the Dronne River to Ribérac. There are two ways to do this: along the south bank on the D78 and D710, or along the north bank. The latter route is a bit more complex and takes you along small roads, making it more scenic.

We'll drive along scenic back roads through beautiful villages, where it's worth stopping for photos every now and then. From Sairn Séverin, we'll take the D17 along the Lionne River to Villebois-Lavalette, where we'll stop for lunch.

After lunch, we'll continue on a long stretch through the wooded "Forêt d'Horte" area towards Marton. From Marton, we'll ride through a beautiful, rolling green landscape to Nontron, where you could also take a break.

After Nontron we drive down again through a beautiful green and hilly landscape to the end point in Brantôme, where you can spend the night at Hotel Le Moulin de l'Abbaye or at Camping Branôme Far Ouest.
