It's a fantastic ride with alternating coastal and mountain scenery. There are also several historical and archaeological sites to see along the way. Roman ruins and ancient castle ruins are located just north of Siniscola, near the starting point in Posada.
More ancient Nuragic ruins are located about 4-5 kilometers south of Baunei and a few kilometers north of Baunei. Along this route, there are also several nice and interesting places to stop for a bit longer.
The ride starts in San Giovanni de Posada. In Posada, we'll fill up the tanks, as there are few gas stations along the route. You can immediately take the SS125 south from Posada, but we'll first head west on the SP24 and SP50, a beautiful winding road along the magnificent Lago di Torpé.
Next comes a stretch with numerous (hairpin) bends, making this a treat for any motorcyclist. Enjoy the beautiful views along the way. Via Siniscola, we ride to Santa Lucia, a small coastal town with the beautiful Torre di Santa Lucia, a magnificent tower along the promenade overlooking the rocky coastline. The tower is the symbol of the town; it's visible from the beach all the way to the Caletta and is simply magnificent. An ideal short stop for a photo and a short walk.
We drive south along the coast to Faro di Capo Comino, an active lighthouse located on Sardinia's easternmost promontory, in the municipality of Siniscola, on the Tyrrhenian Sea. Built in 1903 but not activated until 1925 by the Regia Marina, the lighthouse consists of a 20-meter-high brick quadrangular tower with a balcony and lantern, attached to the white guardian's house by the sea. We continue a short distance to Vecchio Faro di Capo Comino, a magnificent viewpoint for overlooking the island and the Tyrrhenian Sea. We turn around and return to the SS125.
We head south and cross the Cedrino River, which has flowed through the heart of Supramonte for thousands of years and originates in Funtana Bona near the town of Orgosolo. The ancient "Caedris" is Sardinia's longest and most important river, flowing for 80 kilometers through the wild Supramonte and ending at the northern end of the Gulf of Orosei. Kayaking trips are also organized on this river.
We descend along the coast to Grotta di Ispinigoli, caves with gigantic mineral formations. A tour lasts approximately 50-60 minutes. We continue via the winding mountain pass of Pass Littu (Bocca di Irghiria) to the coastal village of Cala Gonone, where we stop for lunch. At the end of the promenade is a large parking lot. Choose from one of the many restaurants and bars to enjoy lunch. You can also choose to relax on the beautiful beach and take a refreshing dip.
After lunch, we continue our journey through the beautiful Gulf of Orosei and Gennargentu National Park, a stunning nature reserve with beautiful winding roads. We head back towards the coast to the town of Tancau. This route is a delight with stunning views. There are a few small parking areas where you can stop to take a photo and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
The Gorropu Gorge is an incredibly beautiful gorge in Sardinia. If you enjoy hiking, you can't miss a visit. Starting at Campo Base Gorrupu, you can enjoy hikes of varying difficulty, with or without a guide. Transportation in 4x4 vehicles to and from Campo Base and other locations is available. You can book a return transfer to the parking lot during the gorge's opening hours. There are several stops along the route where you can stop to enjoy the view of the gorge.
We'll drive through the town of Baunei, where you can stop to stretch your legs, or continue to the coastal town of Lotzerai for a longer break, perhaps with a delicious meal at one of the restaurants along Tancau Beach.
Via Tortoli, we drive to the end of this beautiful day at Camping Villaggio Telis, near the harbor in Arbataxi. This campsite is beautifully situated right on the seafront in the small and beautiful Bay of Porto Frailis, stretching out from the sea on a terraced hillside offering stunning views of the beaches and cliffs. From the swimming pool, restaurant, and spa with fitness area, the view is even more stunning.
It is the ideal place to stay with a camper, tent or in a bungalow or mobile home and it is a reference point for motorcyclists and bikers from all over Europe.
I rate this route 5***** stars because of the beautiful roads, the many historical sights and beautiful views.

Sardinia
About this region
Sardinia ( sar-DIN-ee-ə; Italian: Sardegna [sarˈdeɲɲa]) is the second-largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, after Sicily, and one of the 20 regions of Italy. It is located west of the Italian Peninsula, north of Tunisia and immediately south of the French island of Corsica.
It is one of the five Italian regions with some degree of domestic autonomy being granted by a special statute. Its official name is bilingual in Italian and Sardinian: Regione Autonoma della Sardegna / Regione Autònoma de Sardigna (English: "Autonomous Region of Sardinia"). It is divided into four provinces and a metropolitan city. The capital of the region of Sardinia — and its largest city — is Cagliari. Sardinia's indigenous language and Algherese Catalan are referred to by both the regional and national law as two of Italy's twelve linguistic minorities, albeit gravely endangered, while the regional law provides some measures to recognize and protect the aforementioned as well as the island's other minority languages (the Corsican-influenced Sassarese and Gallurese, and finally Tabarchino Ligurian).Due to the variety of Sardinia's ecosystems, which include mountains, woods, plains, stretches of largely uninhabited territory, streams, rocky coasts, and long sandy beaches, Sardinia has been metaphorically described as a micro-continent. In the modern era, many travelers and writers have extolled the beauty of its long-untouched landscapes, which retain vestiges of the Nuragic civilization.
