Route Summary Meet at McDonalds in Barneveld, the starting point. We drive via the Veluwe, IJsseldijk and provincial roads to Cuxhaven in Germany.
The route has some beautiful parts with many bends, but there are also some boring parts, simply to make meters on the first day. The total distance is over 375 kilometers, excluding the approach routes for all participants.

RouteXpert Review This is the route from the meeting point at the Mac in Barneveld, from there you drive across the Veluwe and over the dikes along the IJssel to the north of the Netherlands and then cross the border with Germany, where we drive over “Landsstraßen” to Cuxhaven.
The dikes along the IJssel in particular are a pleasure to drive, many bends and beautiful nature. You pass a number of small villages where you can stop for a short break.
We cross the IJssel at Wijhe by ferry and drive towards Raalte. In Raalte is the American Motorcycle Museum, definitely worth a visit. The unique collection of American Motorcycles by Max and Ans Middelbosch offers an extensive overview of American motorcycle history from the early 1900s to the 80s and houses beautiful rarities, entrance costs € 5, -. Next to the Museum is Restaurant Tivoli, where you can enjoy a nice cup of coffee with cake or a small brunch / lunch.
From Raalte it goes over provincial roads via Hardenberg, Coevorden and Emmen to Germany. The first big city we visit is Papenburg, this is a nice opportunity to stop and eat in one of the many good restaurants in the center, another option is to continue to Leer, there is also enough opportunity to eat something.
Last stage goes over provincial roads and a small piece of highway, to the end point for the first day, camping Nordsee in Cuxhaven. Cuxhaven is a beautiful German seaside resort with large beaches, many campsites, hotels and good restaurants where you can enjoy a nice meal at the end of this day.
