Route Summary
Hawaii is not cheap and not exactly close by. At least a 16-hour flight from the Netherlands. Yet a holiday to this archipelago in the Pacific Ocean is absolutely worth it, if only for its magnificent nature.
Certainly not a destination you can go to by motorcycle, fortunately there are plenty of rental companies on the large islands where you can rent a motorcycle or car.
For those who want to explore these exotic islands, we have included a number of routes in the RouteXpert library.

The choice to do this by motorcycle or car is yours. Maybe not in 1 day, but stay on this island for several days to see everything.

Because of the many beautiful viewpoints and overwhelming nature, this route gets 5 stars.

RouteXpert Review
This route goes around the entire island of Oahu. Oahu, Hawaii's most visited island and home to three-quarters of the population. The most popular base is the city of Honolulu because of its many hotels and resorts. Honolulu is a mix of palm trees, sandy beaches and historic sites - such as the world-famous Pearl Harbor. Put on your snorkel in Hanauma Bay and learn to surf at the popular Waikiki Beach. Be sure to explore the interior with its waterfalls, emerald green mountains and rugged rocks.

The city of Honolulu is the capital of the American state of Hawaii. Honolulu is rich in historic sites, museums and of course beaches such as Waikiki Beach and Kailua Beach. You will also find the only royal palace in America: 'Iolani Palace. Are you interested in the history of Pearl Harbor? In the port you will find five historical sights that commemorate the attack of December 7, 1941. The Honolulu area consists of lush valleys, forests, high cliffs and the ocean.

You will reach the Makapuu lighthouse via a beautiful coastal route. From here you can walk various trails with great viewpoints. Also visit Diamond Head State Monument, but make sure you make a reservation! This extinct crater is impressive to see. The walking route is quite strenuous; you have to climb two flights of stairs and walk through some dark tunnels, but the view from the top over the coastline at Wai'anae is worth all the effort. Or see a pipeline on Sunset Beach. But Waimea Bay is also worth a visit, it is located on the north coast of Oahu and is known for its high waves of up to 9 meters. These high waves are caused by winter storms in the Pacific Ocean and can only be seen during the winter months. The best view of these high waves is from Kamehameha Highway, but you have to be there on time, because this is a well-known and favorite vantage point. In the summer months the water is calm and tranquil.
