View route collection 24 Magnificent routes in France
About this route collection
That France is one of the most beautiful and best touring countries is beyond doubt. It offers an incredibly varied landscape with good roads and a pleasant climate. It is not for nothing that you see so many motorcyclists there. My previous collection of 25 routes in France (25 Magnificent routes in France) were based on the route descriptions from the Motorbike Guide France part 1 made by Bert Loorbach.

This collection of 24 routes comes from Motortourgids France part 2. With this collection a difference has been made between approach routes and motorcycle tours in a certain area. The approach routes can also be used in combination with the routes from Motortourgids France part 1

The routes are sometimes slightly adjusted based on the tips that Bert Loorbach gives in his description, or because of a different place to spend the night, or to achieve the minimum length of 2 hours for the MRA Library. For each route there is a more detailed description in the review, including options for accommodation or places of interest along the way, which are also indicated with a POI and, if possible, with a short description.

Two or more routes have been made for a number of areas, such as Burgundy, Auvergne, The Alps, Tarn and Cévennen and Nord-Pas de Calais. These routes can be nicely combined in a multi-day trip.

View route collection Route collection MRA NAVIGATION GRAND TOUR 2019
About this route collection
MRA NAVIGATION GRAND TOUR 2019 in short:
From 2019, MyRoute-app organizes every year the "MyRoute-app Navigation Grand Tour" exclusively for MyRoute-app Navigation users. During the Grand Tour you drive 4 routes during the calendar year. A few commands are included in each route. Participants who capture all 4 tracks via MyRoute-app Navigation have the chance to win a great prize. In 2019 we had chosen the 2nd World War as the theme for the 4 routes.

The routes and the assignments:
As mentioned, the theme of 2019 was the 2nd World War. A loaded theme, you are confronted with the dual nature of humanity; the willingness to kill for an ideology, we are better than them, cruelty, slaughter, but also heroism and sacrifices, would it ever change? I myself am very interested in world history, I have even studied it for a year at the university and certainly the 1st and 2nd world war have my interest. So it was no task to put together the routes, drive yourself and come up with the assignments.

Have fun driving these beautiful and interesting routes with a loaded theme!

View route collection 25 Magnificent routes in France
About this route collection
This MRA route collection contains 25 beautiful motorcycle routes in different parts of France, such as the Ardennes, Alsace, Vercors, the Drôme, the Ardèche, Cote d'Azure, Gorges du Verdon, the Ariège, the Dordogne and Brittany.

The routes have been carefully made by Bert Loorbach, who himself is an enthusiastic motorcyclist. He lived in France for a year and a half and during that time he focused on mapping the unknown and beautiful roads of France especially for motorcyclists.

The routes are bundled in the Motortourgids France part 1 of Kosmos publishing house and now also available in MyRouteApp.

I have taken over the routes in MRA and sometimes adjusted something to make them even more interesting for the motorcyclist.

View route collection Three-day weekend in the Moselle
About this route collection
The Moselle is a well-known and loved place for most Dutch motorcyclists. Not too far from home, you will find a beautiful nature reserve with wonderfully winding roads, beautiful views and delicious German food, wine and beer. And because it is so close, it is often also the first experience abroad for the novice motorcyclist. The roads offer enough space to practice your cornering technique well.
This collection is therefore made for this. The routes offer sufficient challenge for the novice motorcyclist, but also a lot of driving pleasure for the more experienced pilot. Are you going on a long weekend (3 days) with a group of motorcyclists on the road, with varying levels of experience, then this set of routes is a good option.
The collection consists of 3 rides that lead you through the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. You drive through the Eifel, Moselle and Hunsrück. Sometimes on fast through roads, then again on small winding country roads. As a result, the routes offer enough variety, also due to a number of interesting viewpoints and places to visit.
Have fun driving the routes and especially share your feedback with afterwards!
FYI: the routes have been checked and made the same for Garmin, TomTom and MyRoute-app Navigation users.

View route collection Top 5 Car and Motorcycle routes in the Eifel
About this route collection
The Eifel is the eastern part of the middle-high plateau of the Eifel-Ardennes. It lies north of the Moselle and west of the Rhine. The largest part is in Germany, a small part is in Belgium, in the East Cantons. The German part of Eifel is located in the states of North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate. The highest point is the Hohe Acht with 747 meters.

Several chains can be distinguished in the Eifel:
 The northernmost part is called the Nordeifel, which connects to the High Fens in Belgium;
 To the east of it is the Ahrgebirge, this section is located north of the Ahr in the district of Ahrweiler;
 South of the Ahr is the Hohe Eifel (or Hocheifel), of which the Hohe Acht (747 m) is the highest point and also the highest point of the entire Eifel region;
 In the west, against the Belgian border, the hills are known as Schneifel, part of the wider area of the Sneeuweifel with peaks reaching up to 698 meters;
 To the south and east of the Hohe Eifel lies the Volcanic Eifel, a volcanic area with many crater lakes (Maare).
 The southern part of the Eifel is less high. The area is intersected by streams and rivers running southwards. These flows flow into the Moselle. The largest of these rivers is the Kyll; the hills around this river are known as the Kyllwald;
 In the south, the Eifel ends in the Voreifel.

There are some large reservoirs in the north of the Eifel. The largest of these is the reservoir in the Roer that was created by the construction of the Roerdal dam.

In the Eifel is also the Nürburgring, a well-known car circuit for Formula 1 races, among others. Since 2004, part of the north of the Eifel has become the Eifel National Park. This National Park falls entirely within the German-Belgian nature reserve Hoge Venen-Eifel. Another part of the Eifel falls within the South Eifel nature park.

Known throughout the whole of the Netherlands and Belgium by car and motorcycles, so reason enough for the RouteXpert MyRoute-app to compile a Top 5 of Motor and Motorbike routes for you.

The 10 most beautiful motor and car routes in the Netherlands are always a snapshot and a personal opinion of the reviewer. About this region
Antwerp ( (listen); Dutch: Antwerpen [ˈɑntʋɛrpə(n)] (listen); French: Anvers [ɑ̃vɛʁs] (listen)) is a city in Belgium and the capital of Antwerp province in the Flemish Region. With a population of 520,504, it is the most populous city proper in Belgium, and with a metropolitan population of around 1,200,000 people, it is the second largest metropolitan region after Brussels.Antwerp is on the River Scheldt, linked to the North Sea by the river's Westerschelde estuary. It is about 40 kilometres (25 mi) north of Brussels, and about 15 kilometres (9 mi) south of the Dutch border. The Port of Antwerp is one of the biggest in the world, ranking second in Europe and within the top 20 globally. The city is also known for its diamond industry and trade. Both economically and culturally, Antwerp is and has long been an important city in the Low Countries, especially before and during the Spanish Fury (1576) and throughout and after the subsequent Dutch Revolt. The Bourse of Antwerp, originally built in 1531 and re-built in 1872, was the world's first purpose-built commodity exchange. It was founded before stocks and shares existed, so was not strictly a stock exchange.The inhabitants of Antwerp are nicknamed Sinjoren (Dutch pronunciation: [sɪɲˈjoːrə(n)]), after the Spanish honorific señor or French seigneur, "lord", referring to the Spanish noblemen who ruled the city in the 17th century. The city hosted the 1920 Summer Olympics.

About this region
Belgium, officially the Kingdom of Belgium, is a country in Western Europe. It is bordered by the Netherlands to the north, Germany to the east, Luxembourg to the southeast, France to the southwest, and the North Sea to the northwest. It covers an area of 30,689 km2 (11,849 sq mi) and has a population of more than 11.5 million, making it the 22nd most densely populated country in the world and the 6th most densely populated country in Europe, with a density of 376 per square kilometre (970/sq mi). The capital and largest city is Brussels; other major cities are Antwerp, Ghent, Charleroi, Liège, Bruges, Namur and Leuven. Legally, Belgium is a sovereign state and a federal constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary system. Its institutional organization is complex and is structured on both regional and linguistic grounds. It is divided into three highly autonomous regions: the Flemish Region in the north, Wallonia in the south, and the Brussels-Capital Region. Brussels is the smallest and most densely populated region, as well as the richest region in terms of GDP per capita. Belgium is home to two main linguistic groups or communities: the Dutch-speaking Flemish Community, which constitutes about 60 percent of the population, and the French-speaking Community, which comprises about 40 percent of all Belgians. A small German-speaking Community, numbering around one percent, exists in the East Cantons. The Brussels-Capital Region is officially bilingual (French and Dutch), although French is the dominant language. Belgium's linguistic diversity and related political conflicts are reflected in its political history and complex system of governance, made up of six different governments. Historically, Belgium is part of an area known as the Low Countries, a somewhat larger region than the current Benelux group of states that also included parts of northern France and western Germany. Its modern name is derived from the Latin word Belgium, used in Julius Caesar's "Gallic War", to describe the region in the period around 55 BCE. From the end of the Middle Ages until the 17th century, the area of Belgium was a prosperous and cosmopolitan center of commerce and culture. Between the 16th and early 19th centuries, Belgium served as the battleground between many European powers, earning the moniker the "Battlefield of Europe", a reputation strengthened by both world wars. The country emerged in 1830 following the Belgian Revolution, when it seceded from the Netherlands. Belgium participated in the Industrial Revolution and, during the course of the 20th century, possessed a number of colonies in Africa. The second half of the 20th century was marked by rising tensions between the Dutch-speaking and the French-speaking citizens fueled by differences in language and culture and the unequal economic development of Flanders and Wallonia. This continuing antagonism has led to several far-reaching reforms, resulting in a transition from a unitary to a federal arrangement during the period from 1970 to 1993. Despite the reforms, tensions between the groups have remained, if not increased; there is significant separatism particularly among the Flemish; controversial language laws exist such as the municipalities with language facilities; and the formation of a coalition government took 18 months following the June 2010 federal election, a world record. Unemployment in Wallonia is more than double that of Flanders, which boomed after the war.Belgium is one of the six founding countries of the European Union and its capital, Brussels, hosts the official seats of the European Commission, the Council of the European Union, and the European Council, as well as one of two seats of the European Parliament (the other being Strasbourg). Belgium is also a founding member of the Eurozone, NATO, OECD, and WTO, and a part of the trilateral Benelux Union and the Schengen Area. Brussels hosts the headquarters of many major international organizations such as NATO.Belgium is a developed country, with an advanced high-income economy. It has very high standards of living, quality of life, healthcare, education, and is categorized as "very high" in the Human Development Index. It also ranks as one of the safest or most peaceful countries in the world.

About this region
Flemish Brabant (Dutch: Vlaams-Brabant [ˌvlaːmzˈbraːbɑnt] (listen), French: Brabant flamand) is a province of Flanders, one of the three regions of Belgium. It borders on (clockwise from the North) the Belgian provinces of Antwerp, Limburg, Liège, Walloon Brabant, Hainaut and East Flanders. Flemish Brabant also surrounds the Brussels-Capital Region. Its capital is Leuven. It has an area of 2,118 km2 (818 sq mi) which is divided into two administrative districts (arrondissementen in Dutch) containing 65 municipalities. As of January 2019, Flemish Brabant has a population of 1,146,175.Flemish Brabant was created in 1995 by the splitting of the former province of Brabant into three parts: two new provinces, Flemish Brabant and Walloon Brabant; and the Brussels-Capital Region, which no longer belongs to any province. The split was made to accommodate the eventual division of Belgium in three regions (Flanders, Wallonia and the Brussels-Capital Region). It is a province with a rich cultural history and a great diversity of typical products, among them several of the world-famous Belgian beers. The province is made up of two arrondissements. The Halle-Vilvoorde Arrondissement has Brussels in its middle and is therefore mainly a residential area, even though it also has large industrial zones and contains Belgium's main airport. The other arrondissement is the Leuven Arrondissement, centered on Leuven. The official language in Flemish Brabant is Dutch (as it is in the whole of Flanders), but a few municipalities are to a certain extent allowed to use French to communicate with their citizens; these are called the municipalities with language facilities. Other such special municipalities can be found along the border between Flanders and Wallonia, and between Wallonia and the German-speaking area of Belgium. Halle-Vilvoorde mostly surrounds Brussels, which is officially bilingual but whose inhabitants mostly speak French. The history of Brabant can be found at the Duchy of Brabant article; see also Duke of Brabant.

The Walloon Region was not merged with the French Community of Belgium, which is the political entity responsible for matters related mainly to culture and education, because the French Community of Belgium encompasses both Wallonia and the majority French-Speaking Brussels-Capital Region. The German-speaking minority in eastern Wallonia results from World War I and the subsequent annexation of three cantons that were initially part of the former German empire. This community represents less than 1% of the Belgian population. It forms the German-speaking Community of Belgium, which has its own government and parliament for culture-related issues. During the industrial revolution, Wallonia was second only to the United Kingdom in industrialization, capitalizing on its extensive deposits of coal and iron. This brought the region wealth, and from the beginning of the 19th to the middle of the 20th century, Wallonia was the more prosperous half of Belgium. Since World War II, the importance of heavy industry has greatly diminished, and the Flemish Region has surpassed Wallonia in wealth as Wallonia has declined economically. Wallonia now suffers from high unemployment and has a significantly lower GDP per capita than Flanders. The economic inequalities and linguistic divide between the two are major sources of political conflicts in Belgium and a major factor in Flemish separatism. The capital of Wallonia is Namur, and the most populous city is Liège. Most of Wallonia's major cities and two-thirds of its population lie along the east-west aligned Sambre and Meuse valley, the former industrial backbone of Belgium. To the north of this valley, Wallonia lies on the Central Belgian Plateau, which, like Flanders, is a relatively flat and agriculturally fertile area. The south and southeast of Wallonia is made up of the Ardennes, an expanse of forested highland that is less densely populated. Wallonia borders Flanders and the Netherlands (the province of Limburg) in the north, France (Grand Est and Hauts-de-France) to the south and west, and Germany (North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate) and Luxembourg (Capellen, Clervaux, Esch-sur-Alzette, Redange and Wiltz) to the east. Wallonia has been a member of the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie since 1980.
