Boschkreek omgeving Zaamslag
When we have crossed the Scheldt we arrive in Semmerzake where we see the large dome of the radar of the Military Air Traffic Control Center.
Just before you enter Gontrode, you pass the former airport that was a Zeppelin base during WWI. This has now been converted into a tourist site. Only two bunkers remain today on the extensive grounds of the Lemberg coulter. The WWI bunker has been restored and on the roof of the bunker a panorama table tells the story of the airport. Text and image material and a map show the size of the site.
In Melle we cross the Scheldt again. A few kilometers further we arrive at the family park Harry Malter. There is a self-service restaurant. The terrace and self-service are always freely accessible, even without a park visit.
Caution! In the busy summer period (at the weekend) there may be one-way traffic here.
Further north we arrive at the provincial domain Puyenbroeck.
In Overslag we cross the border and we are in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. The landscape - and especially the jobs - are completely different here. We pass through several small and large creeks.
We follow a part of the N61 past the recreation park Braakman.
In Sint-Laureins we are back in Belgium. Another 25 km and we are back at our starting point.
