Fruehlingsroute von Buchs ZH auf Nebenstrassen und durch bluehende Baeume nach Arlesheim BL

Route Summary
The tour from Buchs ZH to Arlesheim takes you along small back roads and few main roads through forests, meadows, and, above all, fields of tall trees. Therefore, it's a must-do tour in spring, when the trees are in bloom. There's hardly a more magnificent display of colors, and the scent of the blossoms permeates the Helm.

It's not a spectacular route, so it can't get full marks. But thanks to the dreamy paths and many small curves, I'm happy to give it 4 stars.

The route is easy for everyone to manage, but caution is advised on the narrow agricultural roads.

The route is easy for everyone to manage, but caution is advised on the narrow agricultural roads.

From Buchs train station we quickly go up to Boppelsen and from there to Regensberg, a small village, where we definitely enjoy a short walk through the old town, the view from the medieval tower and a coffee in one of the lovingly decorated restaurants.

We continue down into the Wehntal valley to Niederwenigen, where we cross into the canton of Aargau and ride over the hills to Siglistorf and then to Wislikon. Passing the old provost's house, a wonderful place for a spiritual retreat, we continue over the hills on small farm roads to Lengnau. There we pass an impressive synagogue, one of the largest in the canton of Zurich. Between the 17th and 19th centuries, Lengnau and the neighboring village of Endingen were the only places in Switzerland where Jews were allowed to settle permanently. One of the dark pages of Swiss history.

We briefly follow the main road before riding from Endingen, Würenlingen, and Remigen up to the Bürersteig Pass, then switching back to small side roads. In Mönthal, a small village on the southwest slope, we treat ourselves to a delicious pizza at Ristorante Romana.

Fortified, we climb to Ampfernhöhe, another small mountain pass, and then descend to Kaisten. After Kaistenberg, we pass through the larger town of Frick, one of the few sections with heavy traffic and stop-and-go traffic. The route leads us along the hills to Wegenstetten, where we enter the canton of Basel-Landschaft. Soon, at the latest from Anwil, we ride through fields and meadows dotted with tall trees. The ride during cherry blossom season is one of the most beautiful experiences you can treat yourself to.

We follow the Jura ridge on the northern side, through countless villages and, of course, across fields and meadows. Near Zullwil, we make a detour to the impressive Gilgenberg ruins. You can drive all the way to the ruins, and the view over the rolling hills of Baselland is breathtaking. After this excursion, we continue on less well-known roads via the Chall Pass down to Ettingen and our final destination, Arlesheim, where our journey ends at the train station.

11 day trip from the Netherlands
8 countries in 11 days; The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, France, Luxembourg and Belgium. This route collections consists of 10 routes that I have driven with friends in the summer of 2019.

The start is in Geldermalsen Netherlands, the first 7 days you drive through the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, France and a piece of Luxembourg with overnight stays in hotels.

The last three days you stay in Barweiler (D) in the Eifel and you drive two beautiful tours through the Eifel, Luxembourg and parts of the Belgian Ardennes.

There is no highway in the routes, only beautiful provincial and country roads, many beautiful passes with beautiful panoramas.

Be sure to check whether the passes are open before you leave.

These are routes for experienced drivers.

From Innsbruck to Holland in 7 days
The Alps, a mountain range in Europe that stretches from the French Mediterranean coast in the southwest to the Pannonian plain in the east, almost always guarantee beautiful routes. It can hardly be boring there. The many passes, vistas and variations in the landscape make the Alps a true motorcycle paradise. Driving around in the Alps is really quite an experience. You haven't gone through one bend yet or the next one is already on its way. Climbing from the valley, you can see the landscape change from wooded slopes with splashing waterfalls to alpine meadows where no trees can be found and asphalt roads that cut through the eternal snow. Arriving at the top of the mountain, enjoy phenomenal views over the surrounding snow-capped peaks, as if you were on the roof of the world.

The 7 routes of this collection lead you from Austria to the Netherlands via Italy, Switzerland, Germany and a few kilometers in France. Several passes are visited, including the Tonale, the Gavia, the Stelvio, the St Gotthard, the Grimsel and so on. Each and every one of them fits that are a joy to drive.
You would think that after the Alps the fun is over, but nothing could be further from the truth. From the Alps you drive through Switzerland into the Black Forest. You can have fun for a week in that area alone. From the Black Forest you drive to the Eifel, also a famous area among motorcyclists. Think, for example, of the crowded Nürburgring.
The last part of the route goes over the highway, because then you have arrived in an uninteresting area: the Ruhr area. Busy, gray and gray. Reason to do this via the highway, then you can quickly get through it. Driving indoors is not an issue here as far as I'm concerned. You drive from one town to another, often equipped with many traffic lights and associated heavy traffic.

A few sights are discussed in the review for each route. These often tell something about the history of the area in which you drive. Fun facts, quite educational. Often there are also places indicated where you can find some entertainment, for example a suspension bridge at a great height. You are completely free to visit these sights, you can of course also determine your own points of interest.
But the main thing you probably traveled to this area for is simply driving. And as mentioned above, you are in a true motorcycle paradise where the steering is fantastic!

Each route ends at a hotel. It is of course not an obligation to use these hotels, you can always find another place to stay in the area, that is entirely up to you. My experience, however, is that they are all simple but good hotels for a very reasonable price. They are known and can be booked through booking.com.
