Route Summary
A nice trip in one of my favorite areas of Germany; Harz. This trip is a good mix of scenery and a lot of curves. Scenery is beautiful and you can visit the German villages where you can enjoy breaks and enjoy the German kitchen. Keep in mind that between 14:00 and 17:00 a lot of restaurants are closed, especially on Sundays.

RouteXpert Review
Been to Harz for the 4th time in 2018. This region is one of my favorite regions in Germany to drive, there are many beautiful roads and you drive through a beautiful landscape.
There are several campsites and hotels, so staying overnight is no problem. We stayed at a campsite in Osterode am Harz, at the foot of the Harz Mountains.
The quality of the roads in Harz are very good and you can drive beautiful tours, there are roads for every type of motorcyclist, from inexperienced to real bight knights. Mind you it can be busy especially in the weekend and on the standard holidays such as Easter, Pentecost and Ascension.
There are many beautiful villages and towns with restaurants and ice cream parlors. The restaurants are often closed between 14:00 and 17:00, so plan your stops well.
At the Rappbodetalsperre the longest suspension bridge (RP24) is built in the world and is certainly worth a visit, but not at the weekend it is very busy.
This route has many different types of roads and runs through Harz, Hessen, Thuringen and Braunlage. Total length is about 300 kilometers and including several stops we have done almost 9 hours.
This route is 4 stars.
