But not only the market in itself is more than worth a visit, also the drive there and certainly back to Estadens is a true topper that is more than worth its five star assessment, as well as thanks to the magnificent views and views of the high mountains of the Pyrenees. And the break at the 'Donjon'... well, let's just say that, if luck is on your side, it will be very quiet at the table where the homemade cakes will leave you speechless....

View on the Pyrenees Mountains
The roads are beautiful to drive, desolate even with some technical pinches in between to keep the 'skills' up to standard.
Not only will the market of St Girons pleasantly surprise you, the break at the Donjon is an absolute must on this tour.
We start at the height of the delicious Pyrenees Passions, our base in the promontory of the Pyrenees. Pretty soon you can refuel in Aspet and the fun can begin...
The next 50 kilometers are one big fun rocket. Wonderful roads, full of coolness given by the many trees around it, lead you to three delicious cols. You may not break height records, but the fun is not less.....
On the Col de la Core you reach the highest point. To give you an indication… you start at about 400 meters altitude and the Col de la Core is at 1400 meters. Just to indicate that you also get off the ground very pleasantly on this 'promontory' route…
After this Col de la Core and on the way to the Col de Portech your 'skills' will be used for a while. A fairly narrow and at times nice 'tricky' road definitely demands your attention and that is not always easy to give, given the wonderful views of the Pyrenees further away. This is very technical driving. It may take the momentum out of the ride, but this is the raspberry sauce over the cake that is already delicious... Enjoy with the big 'G'.
After the 'narrow' intermezzo, on the way to St Girons, we rejoin the larger, smoother roads and that remains the case for the rest of the ride.
The St. Girons Hippy Market is a true feast for all your senses. The car park is a bit away from the market, but the walk there is short and pleasant. Pay particular attention to the colorful figures you pass on your way to the market. Even some people are more than worth watching... just like the market, by the way. If you didn't know what lunch would be yet… you will certainly find inspiration here. Please take the time for a pleasant visit and a nice sitting and viewing break. It will soon become clear to you why.
After St. Girons we first drive northeast with the comrades in the direction of Camarade to find the next 'green' Michelin road in the direction of Tourtouse, where a wonderful Donjon in 'the middle of nowhere' suddenly stands in front of your wheels . Just along the Donjon you will find restaurant Sentenac where the lady of the house has been baking the cakes and preparing the other food for the whole village since time immemorial. Here puff pastry apple pie is even more than real and completely handmade according to the rules of the art. If you are lucky enough to pass here at the right time, the break here is memorable to say the least.
The last 40 kilometers are also a party for you and your rubber friends. You can and may easily 'pull a length' here and you will not encounter many jammers here. You can consider a last refueling in Mane and then arrive back relaxed at Pyrenees Passion.

Occitanie
About this region
Occitanie (French pronunciation: [ɔksitani] (listen); Occitan: Occitània [utsiˈtanjɔ]; Catalan: Occitània [uksiˈtaniə]), Occitany or Occitania (), is the southernmost administrative region of metropolitan France excluding Corsica, created on 1 January 2016 from the former regions of Languedoc-Roussillon and Midi-Pyrénées. The Council of State approved Occitanie as the new name of the region on 28 September 2016, coming into effect on 30 September 2016.The modern administrative region is named after the larger cultural and historical region of Occitania, which corresponds with the southern third of France. The region Occitanie as it is today covers a territory similar to that ruled by the Counts of Toulouse in the 12th and 13th centuries. The banner of arms of the Counts of Toulouse, known colloquially as the Occitan cross, is used by the modern region and is also a popular cultural symbol. In 2015, Occitanie had a population of 5,839,867.

25 Magnificent trails in France
This MRA route collection contains 25 beautiful motorcycle routes in different parts of France, such as the Ardennes, the Alsace, Vercors, the Drôme, the Ardèche, Cote d'Azure, Gorges du Verdon, the Ariège, the Dordogne and Brittany.
The routes have been carefully created by Bert Loorbach, who is an enthusiastic motorcyclist himself. He lived in France for a year and a half, during which time he devoted himself to mapping the unknown and beautiful back roads of France especially for motorcyclists.
The routes are bundled in the Motortourgids France part 1 of Kosmos publishing house and now also available in MyRouteApp.
I have taken over the routes in MRA and sometimes adjusted them slightly to make them even more interesting for the motorcyclist.

24 Magnificent trails in France
It is clear that France is one of the most beautiful and best touring countries. It offers an incredibly varied landscape with good roads and a pleasant climate. It is not for nothing that you see so many motorcyclists there. My previous collection of 25 routes in France (25 Magnificent routes in France) were based on the route descriptions from the Motortourgids France part 1 made by Bert Loorbach.
This collection of 24 routes comes from Motortourgids France part 2. In this collection, a difference has been made between approach routes and motorcycle tours in a certain area. The approach routes can also be used in combination with the routes from Motortourgids France part 1
The routes are sometimes slightly adjusted based on the tips that Bert Loorbach gives in his description, or because of another place to spend the night, or to reach the minimum length of 2 hours for the MRA Library. For each route, the review contains a more detailed description, including options to stay overnight or places of interest along the way, which are also indicated with a POI and if possible with a short description.
Two or more routes have been created for a number of areas, such as for Burgundy, Auvergne, The Alps, Tarn and Cévennes and Nord-Pas de Calais. These routes can be nicely combined in a multi-day trip.
