The journey through the Gorges du Dades is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views from start to finish. Don’t worry about the dirt roads mentioned in this itinerary—I traveled it the day after an unusually heavy rainstorm, which caused minor damage. Typically, this area sees little to no rain. The dirt road section is short and manageable, about 5 km between WP07 and WP09.
We chose to spend one night at a hotel in town and another at a desert campsite. The campsite owner, Omar, is fantastic. When you book the campsite (via Booking or similar), Omar will contact you on WhatsApp and assist with everything. You can leave your motorcycle at the Berber Hotel on the main road, and Omar will arrange transportation to the campsite. He also offers a variety of activities, including 4x4 tours, quad biking, and camel rides.
The service, staff, and campsite experience were outstanding - 5 stars! If I visited Merzouga again, I’d stay both nights at the campsite instead of splitting the time with a hotel.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars

Nothing short of amazing - Best trip day ever!
These two days are a perfect balance: one spent riding through incredible landscapes and the next taking a well-deserved rest to enjoy the desert.
We began our journey just outside the Dades region, winding our way through the majestic Atlas Mountains, following the Tizi n'Tichka Pass. The curves that hugged the mountainside led us to the breathtaking Gorge du Dades. Words can't fully capture the beauty of this place! Even photos can't do justice to the scale and grandeur of the gorges. It’s one of those moments where you have to be there to truly appreciate its splendor. Trust me, you need to be there.
Continuing through the Atlas Mountains, we passed through charming villages along roads that alternated between asphalt and dirt. The scenery here was an extraordinary blend of rugged mountain landscapes and the first hints of the desert, offering a truly unforgettable experience.
Further down the road, we reached the Todgha Gorge, which surpassed even Dades in scale and magnificence. The cliffs towered over us, creating an awe-inspiring backdrop as we rode through.
As we made our way to Merzouga, the landscape transformed dramatically. We had entered the Sahara Desert. The road was flanked by endless dunes, with camels crossing the path as if straight out of a dream. It was a surreal experience. This was a day filled with beauty, adventure, and jaw-dropping moments from start to finish.
Once again, Best day ever! Perfect in every way.
And on the 5th day, the camping in the desert... Wow what an unforgettable experience! The campsite offers unique activities like 4x4 tours, camel rides, and quad adventures - each one giving you a new way to explore this magical place.
