View route collection The 10 most beautiful car and motorcycle routes in North Holland
About this route collection
Noord-Holland, Alkmaar, the cheese market, who doesn't know it? But not only this, North Holland has dunes, polders and peat meadow areas where you can walk and cycle to your heart's content. And there is water, lots of water. From the North Sea coast to the IJsselmeer coast, this area also exhibits great contrasts from the dunes to West Friesland. For example, dynamic urban areas can coexist with unspoilt, picturesque villages. And empty, strictly designed land reclamations are right next to whimsical peat meadow areas full of chattering birds.

No, if you are looking for clarity, you have nothing to look for here. But those who love this colorful procession of landscapes, villages and cities such as Alkmaar and Hoorn where you can go for fun, art and culture will undoubtedly return here.

You can't just walk and cycle in Noord-Holland, how about discovering Noord-Holland by car or motorcycle? For this, the MyRoute app RouteXpert has compiled a Top 10 of Car and Motor Routes for you.

View route collection Top 5 Car and Motorcycle routes in the Eifel
About this route collection
The Eifel is the eastern part of the middle-high plateau of the Eifel-Ardennes. It lies north of the Moselle and west of the Rhine. The largest part is in Germany, a small part is in Belgium, in the East Cantons. The German part of Eifel is located in the states of North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate. The highest point is the Hohe Acht with 747 meters.

Several chains can be distinguished in the Eifel:
 The northernmost part is called the Nordeifel, which connects to the High Fens in Belgium;
 To the east of it is the Ahrgebirge, this section is located north of the Ahr in the district of Ahrweiler;
 South of the Ahr is the Hohe Eifel (or Hocheifel), of which the Hohe Acht (747 m) is the highest point and also the highest point of the entire Eifel region;
 In the west, against the Belgian border, the hills are known as Schneifel, part of the wider area of the Sneeuweifel with peaks reaching up to 698 meters;
 To the south and east of the Hohe Eifel lies the Volcanic Eifel, a volcanic area with many crater lakes (Maare).
 The southern part of the Eifel is less high. The area is intersected by streams and rivers running southwards. These flows flow into the Moselle. The largest of these rivers is the Kyll; the hills around this river are known as the Kyllwald;
 In the south, the Eifel ends in the Voreifel.

There are some large reservoirs in the north of the Eifel. The largest of these is the reservoir in the Roer that was created by the construction of the Roerdal dam.

In the Eifel is also the Nürburgring, a well-known car circuit for Formula 1 races, among others. Since 2004, part of the north of the Eifel has become the Eifel National Park. This National Park falls entirely within the German-Belgian nature reserve Hoge Venen-Eifel. Another part of the Eifel falls within the South Eifel nature park.

Known throughout the whole of the Netherlands and Belgium by car and motorcycles, so reason enough for the RouteXpert MyRoute-app to compile a Top 5 of Motor and Motorbike routes for you.

View route collection The 10 most beautiful car and motorcycle routes in the Netherlands
About this route collection
These 10 routes in the Netherlands have been carefully selected, checked and made equal for TomTom, Garmin and MyRoute-app Navigation by a MyRoute-app RouteXpert. The 10 most beautiful motor and car routes in the Netherlands are always a snapshot and a personal opinion of the reviewer. That does not mean that every lover of beautiful roads and interesting sights will enjoy these routes.

The ten routes are spread over 10 provinces, only Flevoland and South Holland have been skipped. Interesting routes can also be found in the MyRoute-app RouteXpert library, but we still want to stick to the 10 most beautiful and not the 12 most beautiful.

Enjoy the many forts and castles that are included in the routes such as Fort Veldhuis in North Holland. But also take a look at the route southeast of Nijmegen and visit the impressive Canadian War Cemetry and Memorial. The 'Overijssel in a nutshell' route includes the oldest house in the Netherlands and perhaps the route along the IJssel is the most beautiful piece of asphalt in the Netherlands.

In this way there is something for everyone in this route collection. If you do not agree with these 10 routes, send us an e-mail, indicate which route (s) you want to remove and which route you want to see instead. Perhaps then your route will be included in this collection of the 10 most beautiful routes in the Netherlands!

Wallonie Open region

About this region
Wallonia (; French: Wallonie [walɔni]; German: Wallonien [vaˈloːni̯ən] (listen) or Wallonie [valoˈniː]; Dutch: Wallonië [ʋaːˈloːnijə] (listen); Walloon: Walonreye [walɔnʀɛj]; Luxembourgish: Wallounien [vɑˈləʊ̯niə̯n]) is a region of Belgium. As the southern portion of the country, Wallonia is primarily French-speaking, and accounts for 55% of Belgium's territory and a third of its population. The Walloon Region was not merged with the French Community of Belgium, which is the political entity responsible for matters related mainly to culture and education, because the French Community of Belgium encompasses both Wallonia and the majority French-Speaking Brussels-Capital Region. The German-speaking minority in eastern Wallonia results from World War I and the subsequent annexation of three cantons that were initially part of the former German empire. This community represents less than 1% of the Belgian population. It forms the German-speaking Community of Belgium, which has its own government and parliament for culture-related issues. During the industrial revolution, Wallonia was second only to the United Kingdom in industrialization, capitalizing on its extensive deposits of coal and iron. This brought the region wealth, and from the beginning of the 19th to the middle of the 20th century, Wallonia was the more prosperous half of Belgium. Since World War II, the importance of heavy industry has greatly diminished, and the Flemish Region surpassed Wallonia in wealth, as Wallonia declined economically. Wallonia now suffers from high unemployment and has a significantly lower GDP per capita than Flanders. The economic inequalities and linguistic divide between the two are major sources of political conflicts in Belgium and a major factor in Flemish separatism. The capital of Wallonia is Namur, and the most populous city is Charleroi. Most of Wallonia's major cities and two-thirds of its population lie along the Sambre and Meuse valley, the former industrial backbone of Belgium. To the north lies the Central Belgian Plateau, which, like Flanders, is relatively flat and agriculturally fertile. In the southeast lie the Ardennes, hilly and sparsely populated. Wallonia borders Flanders and the Netherlands (Limburg) in the north, France (Grand Est and Hauts-de-France) to the south and west, and Germany (North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate) and Luxembourg (Capellen, Clervaux, Esch-sur-Alzette, Redange and Wiltz) to the east. Wallonia has been a member of the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie since 1980.
