This is the 26th in a series of 43 Endangered ANWB routes. These were published in the Promotors between April 2015 and September 2016.
Starting point: Gasterij Zondag, Garderen
End point: Gasterij Zondag, Garderen
I awarded this route with 3 ★★★ stars because the scenery is excellent, the roads are good and the attractions are very good. You drive over the rolling hills of the northern Veluwe, past forests, castles and cozy villages. A classic route through one of the most beautiful nature reserves in the Netherlands, with a surprising number of stops and viewpoints.

You start at Gasterij Zondag in Garderen. The smell of freshly baked bread and coffee on the terrace immediately sets the tone for a relaxing ride. As soon as you leave the village, you dive into the greenery. The Amersfoortseweg winds between the forests of Uddel and Hoog Soeren, with gently rolling bends that invite you to ride smoothly. Around Apeldoorn you pass the Tour Info Point Julianatoren, a nostalgic children's amusement park where the laughter of children echoes through the trees. Not much later follows the Tour Photo Point: Kasteel Cannenburch in Vaassen, an impressive castle from the sixteenth century with a park that invites you to take a short walk. The road climbs and descends slightly as you drive towards Epe. Time seems to stand still in this region. Old farms, forest roads and view after view make riding here a pure pleasure. In 't Harde you take a break at Foppen's Franse Frietjes, a snack bar that in its simplicity is perfect for motorcyclists: fast, tasty and no-nonsense. A little further on, 't Hoekje in Elburg awaits as an alternative, with a more extensive menu for those who want to sit a little longer.
The route bends west. You drive via the Zuiderzeestraatweg through Elburg and Doornspijk, where the landscape gradually opens up. Nunspeet appears on the horizon, with another beautiful mix of green, village and space. Here the Veluwe is literally at your feet. On the way back you stop at the Tour Brandstof Punt: TanQyou Elspeet, a hypermodern gas station that is just that little bit different from the average pump. Then only the last part through the quiet forests of Uddel and Garderen remains - a beautiful finale to this ride.
You end up where you started: at Gasterij Zondag, where the circle is complete. Time for a drink on the terrace or a hearty meal to end the day.
The Noord Veluweroute is a compact but varied motorcycle tour full of natural beauty, history and wonderful stops. Whether you come for the bends, the castles or just the relaxed cruising through forests and villages - this route offers it all. The Veluwe continues to surprise, especially when you explore it on two wheels. An ideal route for a half day of touring with maximum experience.
