This TTT starts in Havelte, you drive via the Holtingerveld mainly beautiful narrow roads through the National Park Drents-Friese Woud to Appelscha *. Again via National Park Drents-Friese Woud you set course to Dieverbrug where you cross the Drentsche Hoofdvaart direction Hijken where you can have lunch at Eetcafé De Dorpskern overlooking the Oranjekanaal.
After lunch, you are half way through this TTT, you drive via Hooghalen, Boswachterij Grolloo to Westerbork and then drive via Spier and the Boerenveensche Plassen to the end point in Pesse, where you can close this TTT with a Steak or pancake.

Because I have not driven this route (yet) myself, this route gets 3 stars.

Route details:
* The route is created for TomTom, Garmin and MyRoute-app Navigation users. That has succeeded everywhere except in Animals between route 12 and 13 (Purple), TomTom and Garmin do not agree with each other. No big problem, if you drive alone you just follow the instructions of your GPS, you drive in a group then you follow the front rider. From route point 13 the two will come together again and your GPS will follow the route correctly again.

About this region
Drenthe (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈdrɛntə] (listen); German: Drente) is a province of the Netherlands located in the northeastern part of the country. It is bordered by Overijssel to the south, Friesland to the west, Groningen to the north, and Germany (districts of Emsland and Bentheim, Lower Saxony) to the east. In January 2017, it had a population of 491,867 and a total area of 2,683 km2 (1,036 sq mi). Drenthe has been populated for 150,000 years. The region has subsequently been part of the Episcopal principality of Utrecht, Habsburg Netherlands, Dutch Republic, Batavian Republic, Kingdom of Holland and Kingdom of the Netherlands. Drenthe is an official province since 1796. The capital and seat of the provincial government is Assen. The King's Commissioner of Drenthe is Jetta Klijnsma. The Labour Party (PvdA) is the largest party in the States-Provincial, followed by the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD) and the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA). Drenthe is a sparsely populated rural area, unlike many other parts of the Netherlands. Except for some industry in Assen and Emmen, the land in Drenthe is mainly used for agriculture.

About this route collection
Drenthe (old, but preferred) or, new but not preferred: Drente is a province in the Netherlands, located in the northeast of the country. Roughly it borders the province of Groningen in the north, the German state of Lower Saxony in the east, the province of Overijssel in the south and the province of Friesland in the west. The capital and largest city is Assen, the municipality with the most inhabitants is Emmen.

But whoever says Drenthe, says Hunnebedden and the Motor Province of the Netherlands with the TT as the annual high point. Not only a TT, but also a very beautiful province to tour by car or motorcycle and enjoy all the beautiful things that the province of Drenthe has to offer. For this purpose a MyRoute app RouteXpert has compiled a Top 10 of Car and Motorcycle routes for you.

All routes in this collection have been checked and made equal for TomTom, Garmin and MyRoute-app Navigation by a RouteRpert MyRoute-app.

If you think so, I have a very nice route that should certainly not be missing from this collection, send it to:
email: routexpert@myrouteapp.com
Subject: New Route for the Top 10 collection Province of Drenthe compiled by Hans van de Ven.

The route will then be reviewed and then added to the Top 10.
To make the Top 10 also the Top 10, 1 route will have to disappear from the Top 10, you can indicate this when submitting the new route.

Have fun with this collection and while driving one of these routes. Enjoy all the beauty that the Netherlands and in particular the province of Groningen has to offer. Click on “View route” to read the review of the chosen route.

View route collection The ANWB ProMotor Tank Bag Tours of 1999
About this route collection
Ever since the early 90s of the last century, Promotor has been setting out the so-called Tank Bag Tours. You understand that the name still comes from the GPS-free era, when motorcyclists still searched their way on roads with a roadbook in the tank bag or router roll.

You have also seen the Tank Bag Tours of 1999 one by one, from now on also as a collection of 1999.

All routes in this collection have been checked and made equal for TomTom, Garmin and MyRoute-app Navigation by a RouteRpert MyRoute-app. The routes follow as much as possible the original route as it was made at the time.

In this collection you visit the following provinces:
• South-Holland
• Utrecht
• Gelderland
• Friesland
• Zeeland
• North Brabant
• Drenthe
• Limburg
• Flevoland
• Overijssel

Have fun with this collection and while driving one of these routes. Enjoy all the beauty that the Netherlands has to offer. Click on “View route” to read the review of the chosen route.

* The routes may not have a consecutive number, this is because the routes then have the number of the sheet number in which they are published.
