TTT 1998 01 Rondje Veluwemeer
Published: 30/01/2019
Vossenmeerdijk (Dronten)
The route starts in Eemnes and mainly passes through inland roads around the Veluwemeer. You drive along the following lakes: Eemmeer, Nuldernauw, Wolderwijd, Veluwemeer, Drontermeer and the Ketelmeer. You will pass through the following places: Nijkerk, Nunspeet, Dronten and the terminus Laren.

Because I have not driven this route (yet) myself, this route gets 3 stars.

Route details:
The route is created for TomTom, Garmin and MyRoute-app Navigation users. That has succeeded everywhere except in Animals between route points 25 and 26 (Purple), TomTom and Garmin do not agree with each other. No big problem, if you drive alone you just follow the instructions of your GPS, you drive in a group then you follow the front rider. From route point 26 the two will come together again and your GPS will follow the route correctly again. At route point 31 (Red), "Lands End", you can stop for something to eat and / or drink. You can also capture your motor with the Ketelmeer as a background.

About this region
Flevoland (Dutch: [ˈfleːvoːlɑnt] (listen)) is the 12th and youngest province of the Netherlands, established in 1986, when the Southern and Eastern Flevopolders, together with the Noordoostpolder were merged into one provincial entity. It is in the centre of the country in the former Zuiderzee, which was turned into the freshwater IJsselmeer by the closure of the Afsluitdijk in 1932. Almost all of the land belonging to Flevoland was reclaimed in the 1950s and 1960s while splitting the Markermeer and Bordering lakes from the IJsselmeer. As to dry land, it is the smallest province of the Netherlands at 1,412 km2 (545 sq mi), but not gross land as that includes much of the waters of the fresh water lakes (meres) mentioned. The province has a population of 423,021 as of January 2020 and consists of six municipalities. Its capital is Lelystad and its most populous city is Almere. Flevoland is bordered in the extreme north by Friesland, in the northeast by Overijssel, and in the northwest by the lakes Markermeer and IJsselmeer. In the southeast, the province borders on Gelderland, and in the southwest on Utrecht and North Holland.

View route collection The 10 most beautiful car and motorcycle routes in Flevoland
About this route collection
Flevoland, if you say Flevoland, you say reclamation, Flevoland is the youngest and in terms of land area the smallest of the twelve provinces and consists of the Noordoostpolder and the Flevo polder, both created by draining parts of the former Zuiderzee, including the former islands of Urk and Schokland.

But apart from being the smallest of the twelve provinces, Flevoland also has plenty of beautiful roads to explore by car or motorcycle! For this, the MyRoute app RouteXpert has compiled a Top 10 of Car and Motor Routes for you.

All routes in this collection have been checked and made equal for TomTom, Garmin and MyRoute-app Navigation by a RouteRpert MyRoute-app.

View route collection The ANWB ProMotor Tank Bag Tours of 1998
About this route collection
Ever since the early 90s of the last century, Promotor has been setting out the so-called Tank Bag Tours. You understand that the name still comes from the GPS-free era, when motorcyclists still searched their way on roads with a roadbook in the tank bag or router roll.

You have also seen the Tank Bag Tours of 1998 one by one, from now on also as a collection of 1998.

All routes in this collection have been checked and made equal for TomTom, Garmin and MyRoute-app Navigation by a RouteRpert MyRoute-app. The routes follow as much as possible the original route as it was made at the time.

In this collection you visit the following provinces:
• North Holland
• Utrecht
• Flevoland
• Gelderland
• Groningen
• Limburg
• North Rhine Westphalia (Germany)
• South-Holland
• Zeeland

Have fun with this collection and while driving one of these routes. Enjoy all the beauty that the Netherlands and Germany have to offer. Click on “View route” to read the review of the chosen route.

* It is possible that the routes do not have a consecutive number, this is because the routes at that time have the number of the sheet number in which they are published.
