TTT 2012 07 Assen Lauwersmeer Drachten
Published: 07/09/2019
Motorparking Assen
This TTT starts in Assen and goes on beautiful roads via the Lauwersmeer to Drachten.
After 40 km on the route, you can make a stop in Grootegast to visit the Legio Museum *.
* The Legio museum is a museum about everything that has to do with LEGO®. This museum is located in a part (900 m2) of the former LEGO Nederland building on Legolaan in Grootegast. A historic site of LEGO, since the company was established here from 1963 to 1998.

After a possible visit to the legion museum, it continues towards the Lauwersmeer **, but first another stop in Zoutkamp, where you can provide the inner person with something tasty at "Restaurant ZK86". After the stop, continue to the Lauwersmeer National Park, where you definitely have to stop to enjoy the view and to take some pictures.
** In earlier times, fresh and salt water flowed into each other in the Lauwerszee. Fear of flooding led to the construction of a dam in 1969. A beautiful new landscape emerged on the former seabed, a real bird paradise. The nature in the Lauwersmeer is so special that the area has been designated as a National Park. Visitors are welcome day and night.

After the Lauwersmeer you go back to the South to close this Tank Bag Tour in Drachten.

Because I have not (yet) driven this route myself, this route gets 3 stars.

About this route collection
Ever since the early 90s of the last century, Promotor has been setting out the so-called Tank Bag Tours. You understand that the name still comes from the GPS-free era, when motorcyclists still searched their way on inland roads with a roadbook in the tank bag or router roll.

You have also seen the Tank Bag Tours of 2012 one by one, from now on also as a collection of 2012.

All routes in this collection have been checked and made the same for TomTom, Garmin and MyRoute-app Navigation by a RouteRpert MyRoute-app. The routes follow as much as possible the original route as it was made at the time.

In this collection you will immediately see a 3-day TTT in the Eifel where you stay in the town of Prum.

In this collection you visit the following countries and provinces:

 Germany, Rhineland Palatinate, North Rhine Westphalia
 Belgium, Belgian Limburg, Liège, Wallonie
 Luxembourg
 Gelderland
 Overijssel
 North Brabant
 Limburg
 North Holland
 Drenthe
 Groningen
 Friesland
