TTT 2012 06 Zeeland Lottum Lierop
Published: 07/09/2019
This TTT starts in Zeeland and goes mainly through beautiful roads via the rose village of Lottum to Lierop in Brabant.

The start is Zeeland is near the Maashorst nature reserve, the Maashorst is a 2400 hectare more or less contiguous landscape park that extends over the area of the municipalities of Oss, Landerd, Bernheze and Uden. A visitor center is located in the neighborhood of Slabroek near Nistelrode. (Source: Wikipedia).
Soon after the start, you can visit the tornado garden * in Langenboom.
* The tornado garden as it is called, is a monument in memory of a storm disaster (tornado) that ravaged Langenboom on 10 August 1925 at a few minutes past 18.00 (six) hours.

After Langenboom you continue and you pass the villages: Sint-Hubert, Ledeacker, Sint-Anthonis and Sambeek. In Sambeek you take the ferry to Afferden, where you will sail from both banks of the Maas to Lottum **. In Lottum a coffee stop was panned at Door & Roosje, there is a spacious parking area in front of the door, and you can sit there in the Rose Garden.
** Rose village Lottum - Rose festival, Lottum is located in North Limburg on the Maas. Although the village has only about two thousand inhabitants, Lottum takes care of seventy percent of Dutch rose cultivation. Lottum is therefore the Rose Village of the Netherlands. To celebrate that Lottum is the Rose Village of the Netherlands, the Rose Festival is organized every two years.

After coffee you continue to follow the Maas to Venlo and then via Koningslust to Helenaveen where you can take a picture with the hunter who killed the boar. After the photo stop it goes to Deurne where you can stop for a while at Toon Kortooms Park ***.
*** The Toon Kortooms Park is a private park and museum, dedicated to the life and work of the regional writer Toon Kortooms. It is located at Griendtsveen, but immediately on the North Brabant side of the provincial border, in the municipality of Deurne.

After Griendtsveen, you go via Liessel and Vlierden to Lierop where the endpoint of this TankTasTocht is located and where annual motocross races are held in the Herselse forests.

Because I have driven large parts of this route myself, this route gets 4 stars.

View route collection The ANWB ProMotor Tank Bag Tours of 2012
About this route collection
Ever since the early 90s of the last century, Promotor has been setting out the so-called Tank Bag Tours. You understand that the name still comes from the GPS-free era, when motorcyclists still searched their way on inland roads with a roadbook in the tank bag or router roll.

You have also seen the Tank Bag Tours of 2012 one by one, from now on also as a collection of 2012.

All routes in this collection have been checked and made the same for TomTom, Garmin and MyRoute-app Navigation by a RouteRpert MyRoute-app. The routes follow as much as possible the original route as it was made at the time.

In this collection you will immediately see a 3-day TTT in the Eifel where you stay in the town of Prum.

In this collection you visit the following countries and provinces:

 Germany, Rhineland Palatinate, North Rhine Westphalia
 Belgium, Belgian Limburg, Liège, Wallonie
 Luxembourg
 Gelderland
 Overijssel
 North Brabant
 Limburg
 North Holland
 Drenthe
 Groningen
 Friesland
