TTT 2000 05 Rondje Noord Holland
Published: 14/02/2019
rp 19 - Even uitwaaien aan Zee.
This TTT has the start and end point in Noordwijkerhout and is mainly about beautiful roads through the North Holland landscape. The route takes you via Hillegom, Bentveld, Zandvoort, Aerdenhout, Bloemendaal & Driehuis to IJmuiden, where you can get a breath of fresh air at the beach. After you've blown out, it's time to drive to the lunch location in Santpoort, there are several options, so everyone was comfortable. After lunch you have the opportunity to spot planes, because you drive a part along "de Polderbaan" towards Hoofddorp.
De Polderbaan is a runway for Schiphol airport. It lies west of the Zwanenburgbaan. The name was chosen after a competition. During the planning phase he was usually called "the fifth job", but the Polderbaan is in fact the sixth runway if the Oostbaan is also counted. (Source; Wikipedia).
Via the Westeinderplassen and Roelofarendsveen, Lisse and Sassenheim you come back to Noordwijkerhout at the end point, time for coffee.

Because I have not driven this route (yet) myself, this route gets 3 stars.

Route details:
The route is created for TomTom, Garmin and MyRoute-app Navigation users. That has succeeded everywhere except in Animals between route points 16 and 17 (Purple), TomTom and Garmin do not agree with each other. No big problem, if you drive alone you just follow the instructions of your GPS, you drive in a group then you follow the front rider. From route point 17 the two will come together again and your GPS will follow the route correctly again.

About this region
North Holland (Dutch: Noord-Holland, pronounced [ˌnoːrt ˈɦɔlɑnt] (listen)) is a province of the Netherlands in the northwestern part of the country. It is located on the North Sea, north of South Holland and Utrecht, and west of Friesland and Flevoland. In November 2019, it had a population of 2,877,909 and a total area of 4,092 km2 (1,580 sq mi), of which 1,430 km2 (550 sq mi) is water. From the 9th to the 16th century, the area was an integral part of the County of Holland. During this period West Friesland was incorporated. In the 17th and 18th century, the area was part of the province of Holland and commonly known as the Noorderkwartier (English: "Northern Quarter"). In 1840, the province of Holland was split into the two provinces of North Holland and South Holland. In 1855, the Haarlemmermeer was drained and turned into land. The provincial capital is Haarlem (pop. 161,265). The province's largest city and also the largest city in the Netherlands is the Dutch capital Amsterdam, with a population of 862,965 as of November 2019. The King's Commissioner of North Holland is Johan Remkes, who has served since 2010. There are 51 municipalities and three (including parts of) water boards in the province. The busiest airport in the Netherlands and Europe's third-busiest airport, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, is in North Holland.

View route collection The 10 most beautiful car and motorcycle routes in North Holland
About this route collection
Noord-Holland, Alkmaar, the cheese market, who doesn't know it? But not only this, North Holland has dunes, polders and peat meadow areas where you can walk and cycle to your heart's content. And there is water, lots of water. From the North Sea coast to the IJsselmeer coast, this area also exhibits great contrasts from the dunes to West Friesland. For example, dynamic urban areas can coexist with unspoilt, picturesque villages. And empty, strictly designed land reclamations are right next to whimsical peat meadow areas full of chattering birds.

No, if you are looking for clarity, you have nothing to look for here. But those who love this colorful procession of landscapes, villages and cities such as Alkmaar and Hoorn where you can go for fun, art and culture will undoubtedly return here.

You can't just walk and cycle in Noord-Holland, how about discovering Noord-Holland by car or motorcycle? For this, the MyRoute app RouteXpert has compiled a Top 10 of Car and Motor Routes for you.

All routes in this collection have been checked and made the same for TomTom, Garmin and MyRoute-app Navigation by a RouteRpert MyRoute-app.

If you think so, I have a very nice route that should certainly not be missing from this collection, send it to:
email: routexpert@myrouteapp.com
Subject: New Route for the Top 10 collection Province of Noord-Holland compiled by Hans van de Ven.

The route will then be reviewed and then added to the Top 10. To make the Top 10 also the Top 10, 1 route will have to disappear from the Top 10, you can indicate this when submitting the new route.

Have fun with this collection and while driving one of these routes. Enjoy all the beauty that the Netherlands and in particular the province of Noord-Holland has to offer. Click on “View route” to read the review of the chosen route.

About this route collection
Ever since the early 90s of the last century, Promotor has been setting out the so-called Tank Bag Tours. You understand that the name still comes from the GPS-free era, when motorcyclists still searched their way on roads with a roadbook in the tank bag or router roll.

You have also seen the Tank Bag Tours of 2000 one by one, from now on also as a collection of 2000.

All routes in this collection have been checked and made equal for TomTom, Garmin and MyRoute-app Navigation by a RouteRpert MyRoute-app. The routes follow as much as possible the original route as it was made at the time.

In this collection you visit the following provinces:
• Gelderland
• North Brabant
• Drenthe
• Groningen
• South-Holland
• Utrecht
• Overijssel
• Gelderland
• North Rhine Westphalia (Germany)
• North Holland
• Limburg
• Limburg (Belgium)
