rondrit Moere Millam x Doeverentreffen 2008
Published: 04/10/2017
This is the checked route of 2008, the first major event of the MTC Doeveren ... now a well-known concept on the Flemish coast. A route along the quiet Flemish and "French-Flemish" roads, towards the North of France. The route got 3 and half stars, beautiful in this region but not the same as in the Ardennes of course.

The motor club exists since 2005 and actually started under the name "sliekduvels" -to understand as mud ... devils. A name that arose at the counter, between pot and pint. As "sliekduvels" they kept it for about 3 years, but regularly they heard from all sides that the name "sliekduvels" was associated with everything, except with a motorcycle club. Eventually it became "Mtc Doeveren", after the name of the hamlet where they are located locally.

You drive mainly along quiet roads and small villages with nice names.
Possible stops RP 17 "La Taverne Vaubain" & RP 18 "Au Pot Dingue" Café / Restaurant / Terrace, "Au tour du Monde" RP 28 or on the same square "Restaurant Café du Center"

A very nice, cozy place on RP 46 "Eetcafé De Leute" with a real history.
On the facade of the cafe is the year 1672. The cafe also bears the name of "Old town hall". In the absence of a separate town hall, the council and the municipal council will meet at the voutekamer of De Leute. There is also a lot of marriage closed. The café / town hall is also a bread bakery, shop, concert and meeting room during the war. At the back there is a large parking lot.

About this region
West Flanders (Dutch: West-Vlaanderen [ˌʋɛst ˈflaːndərə(n)] (listen); West Flemish: West Vloandern; French: (Province de) Flandre-Occidentale; German: Westflandern) is the westernmost province of the Flemish Region, in Belgium. It is the only coastal Belgian province, facing the North Sea to the north. It has land borders with the Netherlands to the northeast, the Flemish province of East Flanders to the east, the Walloon province of Hainaut in the southeast and France to the west. Its capital is Bruges (Brugge). Other important cities are Kortrijk in the south and Ostend on the coast, Roeselare and Ypres (Ieper). The province has an area of 3,125 km² which is divided into eight administrative districts (arrondissementen) containing 64 municipalities. The North Sea coast of Belgium, an important tourism destination, lies in West Flanders. A tram line runs the length of the coast, from De Panne on the French border to Knokke-Heist on the Dutch border.
