rondrit Moere Tournehem sur la Hem x Doeverentreffen 2018 kort
The ride of 2018 from the so-called "Doententreffen". The short version of 213 km.
You can not drive in the sea, so only along the small northern French and Flemish roads. I gave the route 3 and half star, beautiful in our flat zone. Below also the link of the long drive.

This year extra attention for the commemoration of the 1st World War, Iron Front 14 18, with a stop at the Ijzertoren and museum. &

For those who want extra history, from much longer ago, RP 23 Maison de la Bataille de la Peene.
Further along quiet roads and small villages, few restaurants along the way on these deserted roads. Small French cafes are also not very noticeable. Usually a tobacco shop or sometimes a matter for rod anglers and then there is also a café hidden there.
After route point 27 we still consciously go to the Rue de Dunkerque where there are a few occasions, such as RP 28 a Bikertreff, Café Le Relais. A bit further, RP 39 you can find an old French Café. "Café de la Mairie" with parking in front of the door in the square. You can not only drink something but also eat something. In the summer with terrace. Here we are already past half of the route.

We return along the quiet roads and past Hondschoote we enter Flanders again.
Beyond RP 52 you can turn right if you want to visit "the open-air museum Bachten de Kupe", called the little Bokrijk van de Westhoek. You just drive up Sint-Mildredaplein.

About this region
West Flanders (Dutch: West-Vlaanderen [ˌʋɛst ˈflaːndərə(n)] (listen); West Flemish: West Vloandern; French: (Province de) Flandre-Occidentale; German: Westflandern) is the westernmost province of the Flemish Region, in Belgium. It is the only coastal Belgian province, facing the North Sea to the north. It has land borders with the Netherlands to the northeast, the Flemish province of East Flanders to the east, the Walloon province of Hainaut in the southeast and France to the west. Its capital is Bruges (Brugge). Other important cities are Kortrijk in the south and Ostend on the coast, Roeselare and Ypres (Ieper). The province has an area of 3,125 km² which is divided into eight administrative districts (arrondissementen) containing 64 municipalities. The North Sea coast of Belgium, an important tourism destination, lies in West Flanders. A tram line runs the length of the coast, from De Panne on the French border to Knokke-Heist on the Dutch border.
