Route Summary
Ever since the early 90s of the last century, ANWB / Promoter has been deploying the so-called TankTasTocht (TTT). You understand that the name still comes from the GPS-free era, when motorcyclists still searched their way on inland roads with a roadbook in the tank bag or router roll.

These TTT are touring through the Netherlands with the occasional trip to Belgium, Germany or even Luxembourg, which are driven 6 to 7 times a year. The 1st around March and the last around October. These TTTs have a starting point, a pause location and an end point. It is nice to discover what you have not seen in your own country and which nice roads you did not know before.

This TTT is from 2019, so the route may differ slightly from the original.

I have checked all route points and, where necessary, placed them neatly on the road. Also, if necessary, I have further spaced the start point and end point of the route to avoid navigating directly to the end point and I added the POI files from the start and end point as well as possible pause location (s).

Finally, I made the route the same for TomTom, Garmin and MRA Navigation users.

Thanks to Promoter.
! Caution: From route points 20 to 22, the route has been adjusted, the Kastanjedreef and Poppelsedijk have been removed because these sections are unpaved. Thanks to Anja HB for the feedback, Anje drove the route on February 5, 2020.

RouteXpert Review
The 3rd Tank Bag Tour of 2019 has the start and end points in Tilburg-Zuid at the McDonald's. Rich Roman Life. The harshness of the clergy. That Archbishop Simonis in the eighties of the last century thought he could explain the difference between men and women from the difference between ovum ('passive') and sperm ('active').
More nonsense is claimed, in the Catholic Church (and beyond). In fact, the whole church is chatting to each other. The only difference is that I can enjoy it nowadays. Dear God, how good the weather was, there in the Catholic South, in the Kempen, where this route leads through. But of course it starts with a short drive.

At Tilburg you exchange the A58 for Gilzerweg and Bavelseweg and Klein Heike. Countryside so and you can smell it, there is a penetrating smell of vulture. Immediately send a warning: watch out for elderly couples on electric bicycles, because you will find them here a lot. I had almost one between my front fork. And crossing cats are also regularly seen here. In the meantime, you can enjoy yourself on Wildertstraat and Putvenweg and Fransbaan, right through the woods.

Your first stop follows in Baarle-Nassau, a kind of tourist trap around a rara church tower, where they guide the traffic right through the center, occupied by hundreds of day trippers. So quickly continue, zigzag through the farmland; it colors nicely on a sunny day, with red and green and yellow and blue.

We run into Belgium as we turn and turn. You notice it in small details; You will not easily find an unnamed road in the Netherlands and you will find villas in the craziest places. Of course you will stop at the Postel abbey. Of course Postel has its own beer, in the abbey shop you can buy a nice triple, but your attention will certainly fall on the many herbal mixtures that are prepared behind the walls of the monastery. With the most striking derrière cream, especially if you have sat on your lazy ass for too long! Derrière cream, how do they make it up? And if Nivea would have come with it, but no, Brother Guy, from the abbey in Postel!

Then it goes fast. You are not yet back in the Netherlands or you pass the Holy Cross chapel in Luyksgestel. And what you see there ... It starts with Saint Anthony Abbot, as always accompanied by a pig at his feet. Then St. Lucia emerges, clearly recognizable by the sword that pierces her throat. finally you are standing in front of a painting in which Sint-Nicolaas brings the three children to life that were cut into pieces and spiked in by an unscrupulous host!

Before we reach the end of this Tank Bag Tour, some fine kilometers follow, over the Hoge Rijt that takes us from the farming village to the other, Kranenberg with its cobblestones and the Dunsedijk, a sandy path through nature. Along the way you will visit Eersel, if only out of respect for the figurine of the Contente Man. In Hilvarenbeek, with such a beautiful Vrijthof, you can visit the Dansant Museum. Here are ten original barrel organs.
Eventually you end up in Tilburg, in the Peerke Donders Pavilion, Museum for Charity. Peerke Donders? Yes, from the slogan: 'Holy Peerke, give' em another meter '. In the war years, the Tilburg people asked the 'apostle of the lepers' to do a good word for them with the Lord. After all, Peerke was blessed because of his good works in Suriname. Well, maybe he could also prevent more German people from being killed by German fire. Hence 'meter', which is meant as a head start on the enemy. And let the liberation of Tilburg, on October 27, 1944, now coincide with the birthday of our friend. In Rich Roman life that is of course no coincidence! (Source: Promoter 04-2019).

Because I have driven large parts of this route myself, this route gets 4 stars.

About this region
Limburg (, Dutch pronunciation: [ˈlɪmbʏr(ə)x] (listen); Dutch: Limburg; Limburgish: Limburg; French: Limbourg) is a province in Belgium. It is the easternmost of the five Dutch-speaking provinces that together form the Region of Flanders, one of the three main political and cultural sub-divisions of modern Belgium.
Limburg is located west of the Meuse (Dutch: Maas), which separates it from the similarly-named Dutch province of Limburg. To the south it also shares a border with the French-speaking province of Liège, with which it also has historical ties. To the north and west are the old territories of the Duchy of Brabant. Today these are the Flemish provinces of Flemish Brabant and Antwerp to the west, and the Dutch province of North Brabant to the north.
The province of Limburg has an area of 2,427 km2 (937 sq mi) which comprises three arrondissements (arrondissementen in Dutch) containing 44 municipalities. Among these municipalities are the current capital Hasselt, Sint-Truiden, Genk, and Tongeren, the only Roman city in the province, and regarded as the oldest city of Belgium. As of January 2019, Limburg has a population of 874,048.The municipality of Voeren is geographically detached from Limburg and the rest of Flanders, with the Netherlands to the north and the Walloon province of Liège to the south. This municipality was established by the municipal reform of 1977 and on 1 January 2008 with its six villages had a total population of 4,207. Its total area is 50.63 km2 (19.55 sq mi).

The 10 most beautiful car and motorcycle routes in Limburg
Limburg, who thinks of Limburg, thinks of flan, coal mines, marl and the hill country. The coal mines have been closed for almost 40 years, the last load of coal was brought up from the Oranje-Nassau coal mine in Heerlen on 31 December and, as they say, South Limburg was transformed from Black to Green and unfortunately there is still little left. view of this period.

But not only pie, marl and coal in Limburg, but also a very beautiful province to tour by car or motorcycle and enjoy all the beauty that the province of Limburg has to offer. For this, the MyRoute app RouteXpert has put together a Top 10 of Car and Motorcycle routes for you.
