Eifel Roundtour to Bernkastel Kues out of Korperich

Route Summary
This route takes you in a particularly enjoyable way from Korperich on the Luxembourg border to Bernkastel, a particularly beautiful and typical town on the Moselle.

The roads are smooth and good and require an average level of rider, given the length of the ride in combination with the sometimes technical sections.

But the tour definitely deserves the full 5 stars, also considering the particularly fine vintage car museum, the 'Zylinderhaus', which is on the menu in Bernkastel!

So it won't just be the ride that will make your mouth water and your mouth water!

RouteXpert Review
The route starts in Korperich, a small German village a stone's throw from Vianden and the Luxembourg-German border.
The route itself is very hilly with steep climbs and descents, but this only increases the already ubiquitous driving pleasure on the excellent German asphalt.

Please note that beginners may have a hard time here in some places. The combination of narrow and steep hairpin bends is sometimes a bit technical. Not insurmountable, but keep it in mind. A forewarned man….
The first pinchers appear in Prumzurlay where the river 'Prüm' is crossed. A small river, but it has apparently cut deeply when we look closely at the slopes.

A very interesting loop then presents itself in the direction of Hüttingen and the fun can no longer stop... the asphalt winds through the forests here and treats the rider to wonderfully playful bends that neatly round off the tires. Enjoyment with a capital E.
There is time to take a coffee before starting the descent to the large Moselle. We pass the Moselle, but we do not stay there. It would be visually beautiful to follow the river bends, but we feel more like seeking out the slopes and the associated asphalt bends again…

And you can take my word for it, the next 60 kilometers will not disappoint…. It feels like you are driving over the roof of the Eifel… the views are so beautiful…. There seems to be no end to it.

Then we curl back towards the Moselle to follow the current towards Bernkastel-Kues.

Bernkastel-Kues is a particularly beautiful town, surrounded by the Mosel vineyards and filled with beautiful half-timbered houses. You are of course free to spend some time here. We do advise you to follow the parking rules very strictly, otherwise you can expect a piece of paper from the very diligent police officers. And no, no mercy for motorcyclists and certainly not if they have foreign plates. So watch where you park. If you don't see any other motorcycles, you better not park there. And if you take a parking space... then you better pay for it. Otherwise the bill will quickly mount up... take this from an expert... The local catering industry is not so keen on the strict enforcement against the (foreign) and generally fast-consuming motorcyclists, because many prefer to stay away from now on - precisely because of the strict enforcement. The same also applies to Cochem, another town on the edge of the Mosel. Be careful there too...

The reason why we chose Bernkastel as our destination for this tour is not the beauty of the village itself, but the particularly beautiful Zylinderhaus which is a pearl in the German vintage car crown and everything around it. Particularly beautiful and nostalgic. The restaurant of the Zylinderhaus is also an excellent place to have lunch - the food there is tasty and fresh and not old.

The remaining 100 kilometres after the Zylinderhaus are pleasant and easy to ride. It seems as if the Eifel would like to offer you the opportunity to digest all the goodies that you have ingested through your mouth and eyes in a pleasant way at the Zylinderhaus. You meander wonderfully through the last 100 kilometres and it remains a real pleasure on all fronts before you open the door of the hotel again - after a perhaps very satisfying 273 kilometres.

The only thing you need to worry about is how exactly you are going to explain to your significant other the motivation for purchasing a (possibly German) classic car...

That is a side effect of this tour. The water will not only run out of your mouth because of the wonderful asphalt and the exceptionally beautiful surroundings. Maybe you should not have bought that ticket for the Zylinderhaus after all…
