The Harz is Germany's most northerly central mountain range and a paradise for motorcyclists.
Not only because you find so many beautiful curves, but also because of the enchanting valleys, spectacular ridges, breath-taking views and fascinating sights.

The route starts in Goslar, an over more than a 1000 year-old imperial city with picturesque streets and squares. The old city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We leave the city in a southerly direction. The B241 is a Osterode is a romantic half-timbered city. The historic centre is surrounded by a well-preserved city wall. The city is very motor-friendly.
The B241 is a zigzag road that meanders through beautiful forests to the foot of the 700m high Bocksberg. Then the road winds further to Clausthal-Zellerfeld

Clausthal-Zellerfeld is a combination of a University town and a traditional mining town, creating a nice mix of tradition and modernity. From here we drive through the water-rich forests along the reservoir Sosetal to Osterode.
Osterode is a romantic half-timbered town and on the territory you will also find the mining village of Lerbach and Riefensbeek-Kamschlacken, a village in a small national park.

The road to Herzberg is quiet, with only a few gentle turns here and there and takes you straight to the beautiful half-timbered town. The 95-year-old castle is one of the most important architectural monuments in the Harz, with distinct, quirky half-timberings and artful carvings of the tower. Herzberg is an ideal base for hikes and bike rides in the Harz National Park.

Via the B27 you drive in style through the landscape - with straight fields and juicy meadows and lush forests on the left. From Bad Lauterberg, the route continues along the Oderstausee and you turn north to arrive at the L520.
With a sharp bend, the small road climbs higher and higher. It is not without reason that St. Andreasberg is the highest mining town in the Hraz. The city exudes charm, thanks to the wooden houses painted in bright colors, the yellow bell tower and the steep streets. The Oberhartz water management system belongs to the Unesco world cultural heritage.

The biker venue in Torfhaus is a must for every biker. The highest village in Lower Saxony. In addition to cafes, snack bars and souvenir shops, you also have a breath-taking view of the surroundings. Then we drive back south, towards Braunlage. First via the B242, but then again the next wonderful winding road follows.

From Braunlage you drive further south and on the B242 your bike gets a new set of delicious curves pushed under the wheels. And it really gets interesting on the B4. The winding road constantly follows the border between Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt and takes you to the village of Hohegeiss.

Hohegeiss is an ideal place to relax. Stroll through the picturesque village and admire the wooden church (1701), Zur Himmelspforte or visit the regional museum Alte Parte and learn all about the history of the city and the former border between the Federal Republic and the GDR. For motorcyclists, there is the pleasant Am Barenbache campsite, on the river of the same name. Here you will find all the extras that can be very useful during a tour.

Well-rested you leave the drop and drive through the corner paradise Unterharz. From here it goes north again towards Hasselfelde. The B81 is a dream, one wonderful curve follows one after the other. Via the L96 you reach the biker meeting point at the dam of the Rappbode-Talsperre.

Wenigerrode owes its nickname to the beautiful half-timbered houses that spiral around the market square. The 760-year-old town hall with its beautiful wooden carvings and the fountain, the Wohltaterbrunnen, are particularly worthwhile. A special experience is the Schiefes Haus museum, where everything is turned upside down. The Neo-Gothic castle Wernigerode rises high above the city. Here you will find 800 years of history of the counts and princes of Wernigerode
If you want to explore the wonderful countryside around Wernigerode and the Brocken, which has so many legends, combine this tour with a romantic ride with one of the steam locomotives of the Harzer Narrow Gauge Railways.

From Wernigerode it goes south, on the smoothly driving B244 to Elbinrode and from there continue on the B27. From Huttenrode we take the no less fun B81 and it takes us to Thale
Thale is located in the northeast of the Harz, where the river Bode comes from the mountains and between the Hexentanzplatz and Rosstrappe two steep cliffs that are surrounded by many legends, have carved a deep gorge.

From Thale the route zigzags further and we cross the attractive Mansfelder mountain country. First via the L93 and then via the B242 to Guntersberge. At Albrechthaus, the B212 meanders with a beautiful series of curves through the beautiful landscape to the south, into beautiful Stolberg.

With more than 380 half-timbered houses, Stolberg offers a homogeneous cityscape and forms the backdrop for all kinds of festivities all year round. including the Lerchenfest, the lark festival, in the second weekend of August. Bikers from the area often meet up on the square in front of the town hall. Stolsberg Castle is located on a ridge and is the symbol of the city.

A short detour along Gross Auerberg and Hayn and via wonderfully sloping roads it goes further south, to the end of the tour.
At the end of this tour, another special highlight awaits: the wonderfully winding Kyffhauser mountains. More than 30 curves take you up to Kelba - where a breath-taking view is guaranteed.
