You don't need chili pepper to get it hot, because it can be very hot in Spain. When the ride was completed it measured 49°C! So make sure you have enough water and rest, because such rides are tiring.
The route itself is one of the highlights of the entire tour. Not only because of the ride through the Pyrenees, but also the northern Spanish country and the city of Zaragoza are worth experiencing.

From hotel Mendy you first drive back to St Jean Pied-de-Port and then continue south. You soon cross the border with Spain and you immediately notice that you are in a different country. The asphalt is different, the roads are different, the architecture is different, the food is different, the people are different, the nature is different and of course the language is different.
After the border crossing, first head south towards Pamplona. At Burguete you leave Pamplona for what it is and go from west to east through the southern (Spanish side of the) Pyrenees. Tip: go easy on the gas, before you know it you will run out of rubber, due to the heat but also the asphalt. It really is such a pleasure to drive here. One bend is even more beautiful than the other. One mountain is even more beautiful than the other. One view is even more beautiful than the other. Time after time you think “it doesn't get any better”, only to be completely surprised again. Those Spanish road builders are all motorcyclists, that simply cannot be otherwise. A motorist would never dream of sending cars, trucks, campers, etc. over such roads.
Stop regularly and drink on time! Outside the points marked in the route, it is strongly recommended to get off more often, as this writer has done, to drink a few sips of (warm, nice) water. You would almost be jealous of the mobile sofas that have a cooling compartment on board. A cooling vest, which you soak in water from time to time, is not an unnecessary luxury. Or you shouldn't be as idiotic as this writer and want to cycle through Spain in the hottest month.
Food has also been briefly mentioned. Yes, you should also do this regularly. Don't be confused by what a restaurant looks like from the outside. The restaurant, which is included in the route for lunch, did not look like much. But what can you eat there? So don't skip it and no, the undersigned or MRA will not receive any commission.

Once you have eaten lunch, you are already out of the Pyrenees area and some fantastic views of the Mirador del Circo await you. You are now driving through the Sierra y Cañones de Guara Natural Park. A very beautiful experience and one of the gems. After the stop at Lake Sotonera, it is another hour of waiting to get to Zaragoza. Not the most beautiful part of the trip, but the warmest…
However, the view of Zaragoza is satisfying enough. To reach the hotel included in the route, it is best to follow the directions exactly. Not every map supplier deals well with whether or not the location is accessible. It is certainly accessible by motorcycle and, after checking in, you can park your steel horse in the parking garage next to the hotel.

It goes too far to serve as a complete travel guide, but a number of highlights are included as POIs in this route, such as some dining options and a number of sights. Muchos pleasures in Zaragoza!
