RouteXpert Review
This tour takes you to some of the most beautiful places in the Dolomites. We go over 3 big steps and everything in between meanders through beautiful villages. The 3 passes in this route are the Passo Rolle, the Passo Brocon and the Passo Manghen. We have driven this route from Camping Fiemme Village in Bellamonte where motorcyclists are very welcome. There are also several hotels nearby. So we start in Bellamonte at the foot of the Passo Rolle. So the party can start right away. The Passo Rolle is 1.989M high and continuously treats you with fantastic views. The great thing about this pass is that it is a lot quieter here than the many better-known Dolomites, which means you can fully enjoy yourself. Once below, you wind through old villages and forests towards the Passo Brocon.
The Passo Brocon is 1,616M high. The way up is narrow and unclear. So pay attention. You pass through an abandoned ski area at the pass height. Here you will encounter little traffic in the summer months. The way down is a lot wider and clearer. Long turns and hairpin turns alternate. Once below, we arrive at the tesino plateau. This road leads through Roman villages and you can constantly enjoy a great view. We continue in this way until we arrive at the Passo Manghen.
The Passo Manghen is a true pleasure to drive. Very narrow but the asphalt is almost new everywhere. We will probably owe this to the Giro d'Italia. With a height of 2.047M this is the highest pass of this route. I do not recommend this pass for inexperienced motorcyclists. The hairpin bends are incredibly tight and very steep. On top of the pass you have a great view over the Dolomites. The way down is a bit easier to drive. After a few kilometers you would normally end up in a wooded area but due to a heavy storm in October 2018 millions of trees were blown down in the Dolomites and that looks pretty fierce. Eventually we end up in the woods where we drive further down. The ride now continues through nice villages back to Bellamonte.
