Almost a century ago, in 1925, the circuit of over 28 kilometers ran over a long road triangle from Rolde to Borger, via Westdorp to Schoonloo and from there via Grolloo back to Rolde. Feel how the riders tore across this course. That the course was no more than 3 meters wide and partly unpaved, was no impediment.
Nevertheless, a more suitable route was sought and found south of Assen. With some minor adjustments, the circuit served from 1926 to the 24th Dutch TT in 1954. How special is that this is still the start and finish of the TT Circuit today.

We continue our route towards Borger and through Papenvoort, Papenvoort is a hamlet in the municipality of Aa and Hunze in the Dutch province of Drenthe. The village is located along the provincial road N857 northwest of Borger. We drove through Borger in the direction of Schoonloo where we turn right to Grolloo. Arrived in Grolloo who became known as the hometown of Harry "Cuby" Muskee, he was the singer of the blues band Cuby and the Blizzards. From Grolloo came the GP sidecar team Streuer and Schnieders. Egbert Streuer is a Dutch former sidecar driver and undisputedly the most successful Dutch motorcycle racer of all time. For the 1983 season, the KNMV awarded him the Hans de Beaufort cup.
Assisted by baker Bernard Schnieders, he became world champion in 1984, 1985 and 1986. In the five years that followed he was in the top three in the final ranking. The sidecar class was still a part of the world championship road race at that time and there was a lot of competition. In total Streuer won 22 Grand Prix victories, fifteen of them with Bernard Schnieders.
The next stop is in Hooghalen where you can relax on the terrace of Het wapen van Schotland. Then we drive along the TT circuit of Assen, rp 16 the large stones along the A28 in the form TT. The last part of the route goes through Assen and brings us back to the center of Assen.
