RouteXpert Review You can start the route at the roundabout at the Kleine Rietplas in Emmen. First you drive a short distance on the paved road, but soon you dive into the country roads inside. Then you drive to 'Ganzenstad' Coevorden near the German border. After a few nice and winding kilometers you drive near Dwingeloo past De Bospub where you can rest for a while in the middle of the national park 'Het Dwingelderveld'. The road then continues to Emmen through a number of tiny villages such as Wezup where the Saxon farms and wooded areas alternate.

Drenthe (Dutch: [ˈdrɛntə] (listen); German: Drenthe) is a province of the Netherlands located in the northeastern part of the country. It is bordered by Overijssel to the south, Friesland to the west, Groningen to the north, and the German state of Lower Saxony to the east. As of November 2019, Drenthe had a population of 493,449 and a total area of 2,680 km2 (1,030 sq mi).
