Route Summary
Day 6 of the journey through southern Sweden. We drive from Gränna on Lake Vättern via a detour and Jönköping to Gothenburg. Through the woods, on gravel roads, along various sights, but especially through the beautiful nature. And at the end to the great city of Gothenburg. Great roads, forests, views over lakes and the modern world at the end.

RouteXpert Review
Via a detour we drive to Gothenburg. We start with quite a short drive through, partly on gravel roads, between lakes and forests. At Adelöv (RP2), just before we leave the main road 133, there is a spice shop on the left where you can also stop for a cup of coffee or something to eat. A bit further a dirt road starts, which is 5.5 kilometers long (RP3-RP4). Then you arrive in Hullarud, where there is a nice café (RP5). We now take a shortcut to Anneberg. From there we drive a little further on a small road and then on a somewhat larger road to Jönköping.

In Jönköping, or actually Huskvarna, a suburb, you will find a street with historic wooden houses (Smedbyn) where the old crafts can still be seen. There is also a cafe, open only in summer. The castle park is located on the other side of the road. The Husqvarna factory museum is also located nearby. The engines are also located between the pans, gas stoves, weapons, etc. All at RP8. Jönköpiong (RP9) does not have a really nice center. There is, however, a boulevard and center with shops, town hall, restaurants and even a piece of beach (on the Vättern), which unfortunately is difficult to reach due to the train rails that run along the water. Nice to have lunch and walk around. A nice spot is Bryggan cafe & bistro. Shopping is good on Östra Storgatan.

We now drive on the main road 40 to Gothenburg, a real big city with a lot of life, modern (RP11). A city with a lot to experience. Just to name a few: museums (art, nature, maritime, Volvo and much more), the Haga district with all kinds of shops and cafes and the Skansen Kronan fort with great views of the city, island hopping, sailing through the canals, Hard Rock cafe, upscale shops around there, you name it. After an evening meal we drive to the camping Liseberg / Askimstrand (RP12). About 15 kilometers outside the city.

I give this route 5 stars. The roads are excellent and very beautiful and I like bits of gravel. The surroundings are beautiful and there is something to see and do for everyone. And Gothenburg is a great city.
