RouteXpert Review
This route from the Motorbike guide France part 1 is a tour through Drôme from the motorhome "La Camping Moto" in Montclar Sur Gervanne. This campsite is perfect as a base for beautiful trips in this area. Bert Loorbach, the writer, is an enthusiastic motorcyclist himself and lived in France for a year and a half. During that time he devoted himself to mapping the unknown and beautiful roads of France especially for motorcyclists.
Hotels, campsites, places of interest, parking spaces and restaurants are listed as POIs.
A beautiful tour with many passes (cols) and beautiful panoramas, and no cultural highlights, the emphasis is on driving along winding roads along mountain tops, gorges and through forests. This route is full of passes (indicated with POI), so enjoy for motorcyclists.
From Saillans on the Drôme we wind up to 1047 meters over the Col de la Chaudière (RP6), then we descend again towards Bourdeaux on the river Roubion. After Bourdeaux we drive up again to the next pass Col de Pertuis (RP10), this road is a dream for every motorcyclist; beautiful roads with many curves and a beautiful landscape.
The ride continues on a winding road through forests and a landscape with pine trees and rocks to Dieulefit (RP11), a tourist town where you can stop to stretch your legs and have a drink in one of the many cafés.
After Dieulefit we drive via several cols and beautiful winding roads to Bouvières, we also drive on the narrow Saint Ferréol Trent Pass (RP15) that winds its way through the rocks. After Bouvières we drive to La Motte-Chalancon, where we can pause for a drink. After the break we drive again along beautiful roads with some cornering to the north towards Saillians. We drive over several beautiful passes where you can enjoy the panorama, such as Col de la Croix (RP24), Col de Chamauche (RP25) and Col de Planlara (RP26) that lie short in succession.
This last leg of the ride is again a pleasure for motorcyclists. It is a succession of curves through beautiful surroundings, take the time now and then to stop and take a photo.
From Saillans we drive through vineyards along the Drôme back to Le Camping Moto.
I appreciate this beautiful route with 5 stars because of the beautiful winding roads, the beautiful nature. Along the way there are a number of places to stretch your legs and something to eat and / or drink.
