RouteXpert Review The route starts at McDonald's in Kuantan, via the Tanjung Lumpur bridge we leave the city and drive south along the coast to the town of Kampung Rantau Panjang where we take the C106. This road follows the course of the Pahang River and meanders through the beautiful Malaise landscape with its many palm trees.
The first stop is Bukit Gambang Safari Park (BGSP), which is the largest safari park in Malaysia. BGSP covers 138 acres of secondary jungle and is divided into Walking & Wild Savannah zones. It is open until 9 pm and has many exhibition spaces and various shows, such as;
• African Yabara Fire Show
• Tarsan Adventure Show
• Wonderful Birds Show
• Multi animal show
• Educational animal briefings
• Predator Show (unique show without human contact, showing the hunting behavior and food hierarchy chain of predators)
BGSP is also home to Bukit Gambang Water Park, Malaysia's best water park with a total area of 45.8 hectares, designed in a lush secondary jungle. The landscape and surroundings give a tropical atmosphere to the water park.
Experience the longest, tallest, largest and widest water fun attractions in the country. There is always something for everyone to enjoy and it is a true wonderland for children of all ages.

The Bukit Gambang Safari Park is located in BGSP, this is the largest safari park in Malaysia. The 138-acre animal shelter is designed to provide you with countless exciting encounters, up close and personal with exotic animals from all over the world. There are over 300 animal species, many of which are the first of their kind in Malaysia. Bukit Gambang Safari Park is an all-weather with covered hiking trails.
In BGSP, you can eat at Simba Hill Gourmet Hall, the first and only unique White Lions Themed Restaurant in the country.
BGSP also offers several outdoor recreational activities such as:
• Horse riding
• ATV fun ride and off road ride
• Paint-ball shooting range
• Paint ball warzone
• Archery
• Jungle tours
• ATV Safari Adventure - approximately 45 minutes (6 km) trip by ATV close to the roaming animals of the famous African wild savannah
If you want to plan a longer visit, Bukit Gambang Resort City offers 1,866 accommodations of different categories in two themed resorts: Arabian Bay Resort and Caribbean Bay Resort. You can also choose to stay overnight in the Global Heritage (126 units), specially designed 3 and 4 bedroom villas with typical houses built in cities such as San Francisco, Amsterdam and Venice.
Via the very winding C133 we drive to Maran where we stop for something to eat. In this village there are many small restaurants where you can enjoy the Malaise cuisine. We continue the beautiful ride on winding roads through beautiful green landscapes. Take time now and then to stop and enjoy.
At WP15 you have the option to shorten the route slightly and drive straight on to Kampung Seberang via the shorter route where you reconnect to the route.
The next longer stop is planned at Gunung Senyum, which means Smiling Mountain, a limestone rock that rises 478 meters above the surrounding oil palm dominated landscape. This park is closed on Fridays.
The mountain is dotted with caves, some of which are visible as soon as you enter the Gunung Senyum Recreational Forest parking lot.
Next to the parking lot is a traditional 1907 Pahang house, the park management office, a snack bar, a campground, restrooms and a mosque. There is also a lake that is partially spanned by a suspension bridge.
After this last stop it is 40 kilometers to the end of this beautiful day in Jerantut, where we spend the night in one of the many hotels.
