RouteXpert Review
At a three-hour drive from the Belgian border, in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia we find the high mountain range Sauerland. And when we say Sauerland, we say Winterberg, later also our base for this trip.

We start our journey at Krombach. Before we arrive at the starting point of this route we first have to follow a piece of highway, the A4. From the Dutch / German border it is autobahnfrei, and only an hour's drive.
For those who prefer to avoid the motorway, you can perfectly connect to this route from the Eifel of Limburg.

The exit leads us right into the Bergisch country. With hills up to 500 meters high and green, the landscape is comparable to the Belgian Ardennes. This region is primarily a popular walking and cycling destination, but it is also nice for motorcyclists. The landscape is an ideal mix of nature, culture and industrial heritage.

We are now in an increasingly hilly landscape and finding a stop in this no man's land is not so obvious.
Eventually we arrive at the Alter Bahnhof in Hutzemert, because of the bad weather - when driving this route - it has become a meeting point for wet-ridden hikers, mountain bikers and motorcyclists. The bistro is full of fun
and the owner decides to light his barbecue to provide us with a delicious bratwust. And apparently we were lucky, because this bistro is only on weekends and on days off.

After a warming bag of coffee and a frozen hunger, we continue along the banks of the Biggesee. This is 9 km2
artificial reservoir built in the period 1956 to 1965. It can be seen from the observation platform
"Biggeblick".
As we get closer to Winterberg, the slope of the landscape makes for wonderful winding roads and fun
views. It does not take long for the footrests of my Kawasaki to scratch the flat asphalt.

Our route ends at the hotel Winterberg Resort. The hotel is located three kilometers from the center of Winterberg, next to the, in the winter ski slope and the summer bike park. It is a three-star hotel with 105 rooms. For groups there are two group rooms up to 6 people. For motorcyclists it provides a special motor arrangement based on
half board.

When we arrive at the hotel, we are met by the Dutch colleagues.
owner. We can immediately park our bikes in the heated garage
