RouteXpert Review
This route from the Motorbike guide France part 1 is a beautiful tour in the Verdon nature reserve around the lake of Saint Croix and the grand canyon of Verdon.

Bert Loorbach, the writer, is an enthusiastic motorcyclist himself and lived in France for a year and a half. During that time he devoted himself to mapping the unknown and beautiful roads of France especially for motorcyclists.
Hotels, campsites, places of interest, parking spaces and restaurants are listed as POIs.

The start and end point of this tour is Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, We drive through the nature parks du Verdon, De Huate Provence, around the beautiful blue lake Saint-Croix and along the Grand Canyon du Verdon.
In addition to the fact that this route consists of beautiful roads that make the heart beat faster for a motorcyclist and give the tires no time to wear out in the middle, it is a series of beautiful panoramas along the route. There are therefore many vantage points to enjoy the mountains, caverns, turquoise water and fast-flowing rivers.

It is too much to list them all so I have marked a number of route points in the route. It is advisable to check the route digitally beforehand to determine where you want to stop.

There are a few villages along the route where you can stop for a drink, but it is advisable to bring something to drink and food, especially if you also plan to hike a bit, for which this area is also great.

The roads are narrow but of good quality, there is a lot of traffic, also cyclists so pay attention. Some roads are one-way traffic and you drive over several passes.

Pay attention at RP8 (pink) because Here does not want to follow the same route to the village of Les Salles-sur-Verdon, so turn the next left and follow the signs. The small village of Salles-sur-Verdon is located in the heart of the Verdon Regional Nature Park, at the gates of the famous Gorges du Verdon. The city, located at an altitude of more than 500 meters, is close to Riez, Vérignon and Moustiers-Sainte-Marie. A very old area that was already inhabited in Prehistory, the village of Salles-sur-Verdon was first developed in the Gallo-Roman era. However, the current city dates back to the 1970s, the old town was completely swallowed up by water during the creation of the artificial lake Sainte-Croix by energy company EDF.
The modern city, however, has retained some of the remains of its former territory and is still appreciated for its natural heritage and exceptional landscapes to spend a stay in the area.

At RP14 is a nice place to stop and go for a walk to see the Grand Canyon du Verdon and the Tunnel Du Baou.
At RP18 we stop for lunch at La Palud-sur-Verdon.

After lunch we get back on the motorbikes and drive back along a nice road to Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, through the trees you can occasionally catch a glimpse of the blue lake.

This route is worth 5 stars because of the mighty beautiful roads and breathtaking panoramas
