We stop at the foundations of the former castle Hellenburg from 1400. This must have been an impressive castle in the past, but it probably disappeared in a storm in 1477. The foundations have been bricked up with the found stones. This gives a good impression of the dimensions of a medieval castle with a donjon (residential tower) and a front castle.
About halfway we have a view of Veere and the Veerse lake. We keep a stop in Veere. This is a very cozy tourist town. The marina is located in the middle of the historic center.
Just outside of Koudekerke you have a view of some bunkers.
Two forts are waiting for Vlissingen, namely Fort Rammekens and Fort de Ruijter. Information and opening hours of Fort Rammekens can be found at http://www.fortrammekens.nl/.
Furthermore, we pass Arnemuiden and gradually approach the end of this trip.
