Highlights include AR-7 and Push Mountain Road. AR-7, also called Scenic 7 Byway, is the first state-designated Scenic Byway and passes through four of the state's diverse geographic regions. Push Mountain Road is a very winding road through the mountains with many high-speed turns and is very popular with motorcyclists.
We drive from Mountain Home to Bull Shoals, we drive over the Bull Shoals dam, you can stop briefly at the end to take a picture.
In Bull Shoals there is the possibility to visit the dripstone caves, more information about this can be found in the links in this review.
From Summit we drive over the Scenic 7 Byway towards Jasper. This road is pure enjoyment with its beautiful curves and views in the Ozark National Forrest. Along the route there are several possibilities to stop and enjoy the panoramas.
Jasper is a good place to stop for a short break and some sightseeing.
The drive continues through "The Grand Canyon" of Arkansas, Lunch is planned at "The Cliff House Inn", this hotel-restaurant is built on the edge of the cliff and you have a spectacular view from there.
30 km further we leave the AR-7 and take the AR-123, we drive this beautiful winding road to Western Cove, where we take Highway 65 for a short distance to State Highway 206. We drive the SH-206 to Everton.
Then we take AR-125, again a beautiful winding road towards Yelville, where we turn right to drive south again. We now drive through the Buffalo River Park with lots of beautiful nature.
After Big Flat we turn left, here begins the Push Mountain Highway, which takes us back to Mountain Home, so sit back and enjoy the many sharp bends, but also long turns.
This route is worth 5 stars. Lots of beautiful winding roads and nature. Good quality roads and nice towns to stop along the way.
