Old train enthusiasts can take some nice pictures a little further or take a look at the Bluebell Railway. The Bluebell Railway is a tourist museum railway in East Sussex, England. This railway line between Sheffield Park and Kingscote is 15 km long with a stopover in Horsted Keynes. The Bluebell Railway has its home base in Sheffield Park. But before you get to the Bluebell Railway, you will cross the Ouse River for the first time today.
The Ouse is a river in the English counties of West and East Sussex. It rises near Lower Beeding in West Sussex and flows east and then south to reach the sea at Newhaven. It passes Haywards Heath and Lewes. Shortly afterwards it passes Reedens Meadows, where it is worth stopping to enjoy the panoramic views of the Wealden countryside.
We continue and cross the Ouse River for the 2nd and 3rd time, we continue to follow it southwards and pass it for the 4th time at Newhaven. We then pass the Chuchmere River and drive along Friston Forest. Friston Forest is located in the South Downs National Park between the Lulington Heath nature reserve (west of Eastbourne in East Sussex) and the Seven Sisters Country Park. It is the largest area of recently created forest in South East England with a beautiful view of the river Cuckmere. This is a river in England that rises near Heathfield in East Sussex in the south of the Weald and flows into the English Channel. The place of the mouth is called Cuckmere Haven. In its upper reaches the Cuckmere has numerous tributaries of which the River Bull is the most important.
Then it's time for a cup of coffee. We park our bikes at the Birling gap & the Seven Sisters bar. After coffee we go and see an impressive natural spectacle "the Seven Sisters". The Seven Sisters is a cliff in the South Downs National Park between Eastbourne and Seaford. They are seven chalk cliffs on the coastline that stand against each other. After taking the photos and having taken in the necessary information, we continue along the coast in an easterly direction, where we can look far out over the vast meadows in front of us. We stop briefly at Beachy Head to take a few photos. Beachy Head is a headland or bay on the south coast of England in the South Downs National Park, near the town of Eastbourne in East Sussex. The headland is best known for its chalk cliffs, which with a height of 162 metres are among the highest in England. A little further on we pass the Hasting Country Park. Hastings Country Park was formed in 1974 and covers 345 hectares east of Hastings in England. Sandstone cliffs, gorse and tree covered valleys, footpaths, nature trails, picnic areas and ample parking are some of the features of the country park.
Then it is lunch time. Just before the built-up area of Winchelsea Beach we go for a bite to eat in the Winchelsea Beach Café. After lunch we drive towards Dover and pass the River Rother. The River Rother flows for 56 km through the English counties of East Sussex and Kent. The source is near Rotherfield in East Sussex and the mouth is in Rye Bay, part of the English Channel. Once arrived in Dover we will take a look at the chalk cliffs of Dover. The chalk cliffs of Dover are part of the coast of England at the Strait of Dove. When the weather is good, the chalk cliffs of Cap Gris-Nez in France can be seen. A visit to The Dover Castle is also worthwhile. This is located a stone's throw away from the chalk cliffs.
Dover Castle is a medieval castle in Dover in the English county of Kent. It is the largest castle in England. The castle was built in the 12th century and has been described as "the key to England" due to its strategic importance over the centuries.
After a short stop at the National Trust Cafe we continue north where we pass a few more sights. For example, at the town of Littlebourne you pass a nice zoo, the Howletts Animal Park. And in Canterbury we pass the River Stour.
The River Stour is a river in Kent, England, which flows into the North Sea at Pegwell Bay. Above Plucks Gutter, where the Little Stour joins, the river is normally known as the Great Stour. Then we arrive in Whitstable after a long day, where we first refuel our engines and then drive to our hotel. The hotel has a beautiful view over the North Sea and on the terrace we can enjoy our beautiful tour and the setting sun. We had another great day!
Along the route you have several opportunities to stop for a cup of coffee, something to eat or to take a picture. The places where we stopped I have included in the details.

About this region
The points of the compass are an evenly spaced set of horizontal directions (or azimuths) used in navigation and geography. A compass rose is primarily composed of four cardinal directions—north, east, south, and west—each separated by 90 degrees, and secondarily divided by four ordinal (intercardinal) directions—northeast, southeast, southwest, and northwest—each located halfway between two cardinal directions. Some disciplines such as meteorology and navigation further divide the compass with additional azimuths. Within European tradition, a fully defined compass has 32 'points' (and any finer subdivisions are described in fractions of points).Compass points are valuable in that they allow a user to refer to a specific azimuth in a colloquial fashion, without having to compute or remember degrees.
