Route Summary
The Splodertocht, this is a tour that used to be held annually.
The tour was made, organized and ridden by motorcyclists from Espelo, Holten and Nieuw-Heeten, where often also the wife was present as a duo passenger. This tour can be done in one day and you also have time to visit something along the route. Every year they tried to find a few people who wanted to organize this tour. This tour was put together by Thijs Pijnappel and Hans Lamers.
The meeting point and start of the route is at Café Vree-Egberts in Nieuw-Heeten.
I drove this route on 18-09-2011
The routes are the same for Tomtom, Open Street Maps, Garmin and MyRoute-App Navigation (next). The routes follow the original route as it was made at the time.

Have fun riding one of these routes.

RouteXpert Review
This route with the start and end point in Nieuw-Heeten in Overijssel goes through Salland, Twente and a small part of Germany. After coffee we can start a beautiful route. You will soon drive past the Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park* and before we reach Hellendoorn, we drive through the park and pass the Adventure Park. This is an amusement park near Hellendoorn in Overijssel. The park was founded in 1936 by Jan van den Berg. He started with a tea house and some playground equipment. In the years that followed it grew into a large Adventure Park: (Source Wikipedia) *The Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park covers a large part of the ridge between Hellendoorn, Haarle and Holten in Overijssel. The park is located entirely south of the N35 Zwolle - Almelo, and includes the Haarlerberg, Holterberg, Noetselerberg and the Koningsbelten. The ridge is a striking part of the Overijssel landscape. It can be seen from all sides from far away. Conversely, many views are possible from the heathlands. The forests are also extensive by Dutch standards.

We continue our way towards Vriezenveen where we will drink a cup of coffee near Reutum. Then we drive towards Oldenzaal and De Lutte where we cross the border to take a small piece of Germany (near Bad Bentheim). Our lunch spot is restaurant Driland, near Overdinkel. After lunch we drive further via Enschede and Haaksbergen towards Lochem.

The route takes us further along Zwiep (Achterhoeks: Zwéép) known for the Witte Wieven. Here we stop to stretch our legs and drink a cup of coffee.

Legend of the White Ladies:
A young man is saved by white women from falling into a pit. In gratitude, he brings them a cake on a plate. Later, he has to compete with another farm boy for the hand of a farm girl. The young man is the only one who succeeds in throwing a hair spit into the pit of the white women. He is then chased by a white woman with the hair spit. The boy barely escapes into the barn and the white woman throws the hair spit** into the door. Once the boy and the farm girl are married, he receives a golden plate and hair spit from the white women, so that they are no longer poor.
**A hairspit is a portable anvil for the hairs of a scythe or scythe, in combination with a hair hammer. The image in the middle shows a hairspit being used by hitting it with the point into a tree stump, in combination with a normal hammer. After the coffee stop at the Witte Wieven we head back to the end point in Nieuw-Heeten, where we end the ride with a cup of coffee.
Along the route you have several opportunities to stop for a cup of coffee and/or something to eat or to take a picture. The places where we stopped briefly I have included in the details.

I gave the route 4 stars, a nice route and a nice day out. The roads in Salland and Twente are generally fine to drive.

The 10 most beautiful car and motorcycle routes in Limburg
Limburg, who thinks of Limburg, thinks of flan, coal mines, marl and the hill country. The coal mines have been closed for almost 40 years, the last load of coal was brought up from the Oranje-Nassau coal mine in Heerlen on 31 December and, as they say, South Limburg was transformed from Black to Green and unfortunately there is still little left. view of this period.

But not only pie, marl and coal in Limburg, but also a very beautiful province to tour by car or motorcycle and enjoy all the beauty that the province of Limburg has to offer. For this, the MyRoute app RouteXpert has put together a Top 10 of Car and Motorcycle routes for you.
