This is the sixth day, starting from the hotel in Flums, Switzerland, and ending in Melay, France, where we stayed overnight in a B&B run by a friendly couple.
This route deserves 4 stars, partly because of the beautiful mountain roads and stunning mountain lakes in Switzerland.

Swiss Alps
The first part of the journey takes us past Lake Walensee and the Stausee, and the first pass is the Sattelegg Pass. This pass is located in the Alps in the canton of Schwyz, Switzerland, between Siebnen and Willerzell. The pass is at an altitude of 1,190 meters, and the road has a maximum gradient of 14 percent. On the Sattelegg, there's a restaurant, a small chapel, and a ski lift.
We continue along Lake Sihlsee to the Ibergeregg Pass at an altitude of 1,406 meters in the Swiss canton of Schwyz. The pass connects the town of Schwyz and the village of Oberiberg.
We continue our journey to Lucerne on the northern shore of Lake Lucerne. With its four cantons—Uri, Schwyz, Lucerne, and Nidwalden—Lake Lucerne is the historical and geographical center of Switzerland. The tourist offerings are incredibly diverse and include Lucerne's vibrant city life, pampering at luxurious wellness resorts in fantastic locations or simple mountain huts, lake cruises, mountain railway or cable car excursions to beautiful viewpoints, and, of course, mountain hiking.
Lake Lucerne has a very jagged shape. The southernmost part is formed by the fjord-like Lake Urnersee. Most of the peaks reach an altitude of around 2,000 meters, with the Urirotstock reaching almost 3,000 meters. Stop occasionally to enjoy the view or take photos.
We stopped for lunch at Ace Café Luzern, a "little brother" of the original Ace Café London. A meeting place for bikers and enthusiasts of hot rods and fast sports cars. There's something going on almost every weekend. The food in the restaurant is good.
We continue our journey through the Vosges Mountains to our B&B in Melay, France. Due to the long distance, we partly take the D-roads in France. Less spectacular than the higher passes, but still enjoyable.
