RouteXpert Review
This trip is based on the routes that Marc Telkamp drove in 2009 during his tour of the Czech Republic. The routes may differ from the original due to map changes and daily distances. After a few days in Harrachov, it is time to continue driving. This route takes you to Rychnov nad Kněžnou, in German: Reichenau an der Knieschna. Via a beautiful route through a possibly even more beautiful landscape, you will also pass through the places Vrchlabí and Adrspach, which you also passed during the 1st tour. The route largely continues to follow the Polish border. Rychnov nad Kněžnou is located in the Hradec Králové region, and is part of the Rychnov nad Kněžnou district. Rychnov nad Kněžnou has 11,823 inhabitants. The city was founded during the colonization of the Eagle Mountains, Rychnov was on an important trade route. Until 1918, the city was part of the Austrian monarchy and head of the Reichenau district, one of the 94 Bezirkshauptmannschaften in Bohemia.
During this route you will pass several small towns, after about 40KM, you can visit the Giant Mountains museum, and in the town of Žacléř, after about 80KM drive, there are Plague Columns, these are monuments that remind you of the time of the plague. They are mainly found in Catholic regions in Central Europe such as Bavaria, Austria, the Czech Republic, but also in Normandy. Most date from the 17th century. Just a quick stop for a photo.
Again a nice driving route with a few stops for the inner person and to pick up some history, but above all a nice drive. Once arrived at the final destination, enjoy the Czech delicacies and prepare for your stay in the capital Prague.

About this region
Liberec (Czech: [ˈlɪbɛrɛts] (listen); German: Reichenberg [ˈʁaɪçn̩bɛʁk]) is a city in the Czech Republic. It has about 104,000 inhabitants and it is the fifth-largest city in the country. It lies on the Lusatian Neisse and is surrounded by the Jizera Mountains and Ještěd–Kozákov Ridge. The town centre is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument zone.
Liberec was once home to a thriving textile industry and hence nicknamed the "Manchester of Bohemia". For many Czechs, Liberec is mostly associated with the city's dominant Ještěd Tower. Since the end of the 19th century, the city has been a conurbation with the suburb of Vratislavice nad Nisou and the neighbouring city of Jablonec nad Nisou. Therefore, the total area with suburbs encompasses 150,000 inhabitants.

Tour Poland Slovakia and the Czech Republic
This collection of routes is based on a 3-week vacation that I rode with my partner in June 2018.
The journey goes through Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and a piece of Germany. In total there are 11 driving days, a combination of touristic tours and routes from A to B. All routes avoid the highway and go exclusively on the smaller roads, which makes it a beautiful and varied journey.
Along the way you regularly come across sights, where you can stop to look around. These vary from beautiful viewpoints, to museums and special buildings. You also visit various national nature parks along the way, such as the Tatra Mountains, the Giant Mountains, Eagle Mountains, Krkonoše and Bohemian Switzerland. Because the overnight places are often also located in these areas, you can alternate the driving days with days with wonderful hiking trips.
If you only want to ride a motorcycle, then this collection can also be done in 2 weeks (including a return trip from the Netherlands).
The routes themselves can be challenging from time to time, particularly because the quality of the road surface in Eastern Europe - especially on the small country roads - is not always good. In June 2018 all routes were on paved roads.
