Route Summary
ANWB/Promotor has been setting up the so-called TankTasTochten (TTT) since the early 1990s. You will understand that the name dates back to the GPS-less era, when motorcyclists still found their way on back roads with a road book in the tank bag or route roll. These TTT are tours through the Netherlands with an occasional trip to Belgium, Germany or even Luxembourg, which are held 6 to 7 times a year. The 1st around March and the last around October. These TTT have a start point, a pause point and an end point. It's nice to discover what you haven't seen in your own country and which nice roads you didn't know yet.
This TTT is from 2019, so the route may differ slightly from the original.
I have checked all waypoints and placed them neatly on the road where necessary. Also, if necessary, I have spaced the start point and end point of the route a bit further apart to avoid navigating directly to the end point and added the POI files of the start and end point, as well as possible break point(s).
Finally, I made the route the same for TomTom, Garmin and MRA Navigation users.
Thanks to Promoter.

RouteXpert Review
The 6th Tank Bag Tour of 2019 has the start and end points in Hilversum. The Randstad. It remains a special phenomenon. There are people, also in motorcycle circles, who say: I would never want to live there. Too busy. They probably never get beyond Dam Square and associates. Because busy ... Drive this TankTasTocht and you will be surprised about the emptiness, the silence, the green character. Yes, sometimes you see urban buildings in the distance, and the cars on the A2, but it doesn't bother you. Rich, that is the Randstad too, there is no way to beat that. Take Hilversum, the starting point of this ride. An architectural gold mine, that's it, a candy drum for those who love beautiful buildings. And then all those museums left and right - I have come across a new one, the Healey Museum in Vreeland. Think shiny curved fenders but more beautiful ... There must be a relationship with women, but I don't know which one exactly.
In the meantime it is also fun to drive through the woods of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug and later, along tiny peat rivers, such as the Geer and the Waver and the Winkel. Be careful that you do not park your motorcycle in the reed, that is how closely listening is here. And for those who think that sin lives in the West, organist and trumpet player duel in 'Jesus Conqueror' in the severely reformed church of the insignificant Kockengen, even for an unbeliever to be silent!
We pick up the route in Hilversum, a special case because every time I get there, I think: where is the center? Also this time you will not find out, but while touring it is striking what an incredibly beautiful collection of streets and squares it is. Sometimes you steer through a villa park with splendid buildings in lavish green, then you drive through a carefully designed residential area with workers' and middle-class homes from the first half of the last century. One man in particular has been responsible for that and that is Willem Dudok. Remember that name!
Of course you also walk into the Institute for Sound and Vision - after all, you are here in the heart of the media country. And yes, there you are again. We are a rich, what is called, blessed country that we can afford such a fantastic building. And if you see what, for example, television has brought to programs in recent decades ... Just those children's programs: Theo and Thea and their Kreatief with Kurk, Buurman and Buurman, Bart de Graaff who is laughing at the back of a police car, VPRO's Achterwerk in de Kast in which a boy of just ten is terribly angry about docking dogs ("A dog can have fun with its tail!"). Unforgettable.
As soon as you leave Hilversum, you are immediately in the woods of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Nice ride, because sometimes you dive into a beech forest, then again you can go down hill. It is an old dike landscape, with the associated height differences. Most beautiful piece? Across the Hoge Vuurscheweg, towards the pancake center of the Netherlands and also known for Drakensteyn Castle where Beatrix spends her old age. But shortly thereafter, the dams are finished and you dive into the green heart of Holland.
The poorly informed motorcyclist may now think: should I spend my expensive kilometers on that flat area where there is nothing to see except green peat meadows as far as the eye can see? But I would like to admit this poorly informed motorcyclist: just drive on the Zandpad to Breukelen - a nice tour anyway, along the Vecht. Cross the A2 and continue your way along the Geerkade and Amstelkade and De Hoef Oostzijde, then you will talk differently.
First of all, the helmsman in all of us comes fully into its own here, along the winding peat rivers. In fact: at one point I got a cramp in my back from the pas de deux between myself and my motorcycle - left, right, left, left, right and again left and right! Secondly, unexpected beauties pop up every now and then, from Kockengen with its Wagendijk and its Heicop and its Voorstraat to Baambrugge with its Dorpsstraat…; you would swear it was 1900. And third: this is an age-old landscape that has also been surprisingly well-preserved. Many times you think along the way: huh ... that it still exists, and especially along the Waver and the Winkel, under the smoke of Amsterdam.
Because you still pass by on the way back, step inside the Healey Museum, on the Vecht above Vreeland. Older people know that this is a two-seater sports car from the fifties / sixties / seventies of the last century. Really such a cart in which you wanted to be seen. You won't be really surprised if the guide drops names like those of Marilyn Monroe, Cary Grant and ... Herman Heinsbroek, former minister on behalf of the LPF and once also in possession of a Healey.
Funny detail: the white bands were not for decoration, no, in states such as California and Florida because they better reflected the sunlight and therefore became less warm. With the help of the guide we are also introduced to the concept of suicide. "Look," he says, "that door swings open to the front, so you don't automatically see what's coming from behind. Because I have driven large parts of this route myself, this route gets 4 stars.
