Route Summary
A wonderful route in the province of Utrecht where you can take an hour or five off with breaks. You start at Van der Valk Hotel De Bilt, then the road meanders through the Utrechtse Heuvelrug to Leersum and crosses the Amsterdam Rijnkanaal. You take a piece of Lekdijk along and you can see an old brick factory along the Lek, nice for the picture! Then cross the canal at Wijk bij Duurstede again and not much further you drive past Kasteel Duurstede, also a nice photo opportunity. On the Lekdijk you continue towards Amerongen where you cross the Lek. On the other side of the Lek to Kesteren and not much further again cross the Lek, so take some change for the pontjes. Over the Lek de Grebbeweg towards Rhenen, on the way you can stop at the very impressive Ereveld Grebbelinie where there was fierce fighting during the German invasion in the 2nd World War. Beyond Rhenen a nice piece of Utrechtse Heuvelrug and then the final station at Kasteel Amerongen. All in all a route that is definitely worth it, lots of fun!

RouteXpert Review
The smallest province in the middle of the country and accessible to everyone. But certainly not the least, it is a great route along interesting sights. It goes without saying that all route points are put on the road during the writing of this review. It has also been checked that the route is the same for TomTom, Garmin and MyRoute Navigation app. The colored route points are provided with an informative text. Do you use MyRoute-app Navigation? Then you can click on a colored waypoint on the way and see the informative text. But above all, a wonderful route to entertain you for a day!

Enjoy the many fortresses and castles that are included in the routes, such as Fort Veldhuis in North Holland. But also take a look at the route southeast of Nijmegen and visit the impressive Canadian War Cemetery and Memorial. The route 'Overijssel in bird's eye view' includes the oldest house in the Netherlands and the route along the IJssel is probably the most beautiful piece of asphalt in the Netherlands.

This way there is something for everyone in this route collection.
